http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17436&highlight=iphone and I watched that demo on apple's site.... still considering... what kind of business plan can I get with AT&T? Also, are the stores going to have demos where I can use the touch screen? The texting is a deal breaker.
all att stores and apple stores will have 1-3 demos on display to play with. Business plans? well i am guessing you need 6 or more phones?
i'm sorry, the only way you can get the phone is on a personal plan... blame apple for that one. no buisness, no corperate, no goverment, no discount. 2 year contract or 2 year extention. upgrades not allowed. 499 4 gig, 599 8gig special iphone plan will be available at launch. apple re-designed the sim so there will be no sim swapping, and sims can only be interchangable wiht NEWER iphones. thats about it.
apple made there own version of the sim car.. it does not allow to be transfered out of the machine... prevents people from trying to use the phone with another carrier. or simply trying to steal it. the only thing the iphone sim card can be used for is to swap into a newer iphone. sorry to report.
Which makes it pretty much equivalent to the phones from Sprint and Verizon... (they don't use SIM cards) I like the option a SIM card gives me. I never had it on Sprint and didn't know what I was missing, but I didn't travel internationally then, either.
the stores will be able to transfer data from the old card to the new.. apple is just going a bit nutty to make sure NO other network can touch the phone right now... there may be some sort of device that will allow the card to go into another phone, but not vice versa.
I read on the net yesturday that some people have leaked out a $110 a month iplan. Something like 1k minutes, 2k messages and unlimited data. I read the same info on 3-4 different places, so either they are all posting the same stuff or it is fairly close. No need for a $3200 for, no matter how baller it is. Russ
after checking macrumor that doesn't seem to be the case: http://www.macrumors.com/2007/06/26/apple-announces-iphone-service-plans/
^^^^^ yep, that is the official pricing as of this morning. But you will need to pony up the extra $20 a month to get unlimited text msgs. You will blow though 200 in a night. Russ
are you smoking crack. you just contradicted your self on that one. a 2 year extension is a upgrade  "iPhone will require a new two-year AT&T service plan. Customers with existing AT&T accounts will have the option of keeping their existing phone number and upgrading their account to work with iPhone, Apple added." source:http://www.appleinsider.com/article...iphone_can_be_activated_by_users_at_home.html please get all your facts straight before telling everyone thats how it is going to be. There is a lot of secracy around this phone and NO ONE offical knows anything about the specifics...except for a select few and yes surprisingly, the Apple I phone will be at&t's cheapest option for unlimited internet. weird but awesome in the same way. 20 for unlimited internet and 200 text is a hell of a deal for a pda phone.
Heh, I smell a class-action lawsuit. When I had sigular and t-mobile I routinely had my phones unlocked when I was travelling to Europe, so that I could use locally issued sim cards with local rates. And I know people expect that kind of feature from a GSM phone.
no upgrades meant sometimes they let you upgrade without a 2 year agreement.. no way out of the 2 year. and the sim card.. this is what i've been told... I havn't touched the unit yet to make truth of it yet.
you couldn't be more wrong. Please get your facts straight before you go spouting off misinformation. I've just completed the required 3 hour training on the iPhone and know as much as anyone will know at this point. First off, it will have a normal sim card slot. They'd even be able to take their existing sim out and put it in the device. The phone won't recognize any info off of it, so they have to transfer contacts through their computer or in store data machine. Secondly, ANY existing customer can upgrade to one regardless of what length they have left in contract. YES, you heard right, if you just upgraded 2 days ago with a new 2 year contract, you can buy an iPhone for the $499 and $599 prices with a new 2 year from the date of purchase. This makes sense since the phone is being bought at a non-subsidized price. So its almost a better deal if you've upgraded recently, since you'll pay the same price for the iPhone, but only have to extend your contract to equal 2 years from iPhone purchase. Meaning, if you upgraded a month ago, you're only extending you contract for 1 month, as opposed to a whole 2 years for a new customer. What store do you work at? Josh and I are both at corporate stores and have recognized many mistakes you are claiming.
except us lol. If we get one, it will be frowned upon from what i've heard and we can't use it while on the clock at work... ghey.
I don't work at a store... I work in bloomington in the corperate office each area has been given different training.. kinda sad really.. because all three coarses have had conflicting information up untill today... which today I was told that the sim card activated in your iphone would be able to work on other phones but not vice versa... apple really has the balls on ATT... we have NO discount, NO erp... yet apple has a discount on the phone, and 50% off any ATT plan. not a happy camper about that one
as long as it is a PERSONAL ACCOUNT before I forget... you guys part of the union, and did they give you guys bennys too? or is it kinda a commison only, best of luck thing? ((buddy of mine hates it here and wants to work in a store...))
we're union. decent hourly plus commission. its not really a luck thing, a good salesman is a good salesman. there is consistency of who is the top in the store. luckily for josh and I we're usually the top in our stores.
yea, luckily  thats what i call it each month lol, or should i say thats everyone elses excuse.
AT&T customers seeing sudden boost in EDGE speeds? http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/28/atandt-customers-seeing-sudden-boost-in-edge-speeds/ :eek4:
its funny how on the day of the iphone i get my check from work for buying a new phone. hmmm... im still going with the 6800 windows mobile 6. slower network and first version wont support the future att network. unless you get the phone cheap, id think hard on getting one. I dunno though. going to be funny having apple vs windows debates on phones now too. i need my bandwidth though. the debate would be so much better if it was on same same network.
that's what was announced, apple employees get one free part timers/full timers that have been there for a year or more.
we have a few, but they're just sitting in their cars on laptops leaching free wifi from the burger king next door lol. Nerds.... And apple employees do get free iPhones, and a supposed discount on our service. While us at&t employees get squat .
My friend who works there told me that he is not getting one for free. And people that i talked to at the store told me the same thing. :dunno:
"Steve Jobs held a town hall meeting with employees today on the eve of the iPhone launch, and as part of that meeting announced that each full-time employee of Apple will receive a free iPhone. That’s over 17,000 iPhones that will be given away for the full-timers, plus any part-time employees with a year or more under their belt will get one too. Jobs has done this before a couple years ago with the 1GB iPod Shuffle, but the price tag is a little spendier this time around." WOW, just wow.
WOW, just wow. Taras was able to go online and grab a bit of info and post it somewhere else. I didnt think his computer could go to any other sites than here.
