so after the blown motor / then upgraded 2.5 last year we put on about 3500 miles before the trans went out.......
now here we are with a trans i picked up from pams in st. cloud , it has 6300 miles on it and will be going in our wagon , 2.5L with hta 68 turbo and supporting mods...

i have the money to send out the valvebody and torque converter from the new trans now before install....

but mainly my ? is do i really need to do the torque converter?

valve body , and extra cooler are for sure as is flushing the cooler in the radiator

    experience, thoughts, help, laughter.......go!!!

^ also....its my wifes d.d. and also my fun car.....but no drag racing in my future , if it is done (torque converter that is) would it help for resale if we decide to try and sell it in the future?? ***reliabilty is our main focus at this point since this is our "good car"

Absolutely posatively do not use that cooler again no matter how many times you flushed it. You will regret it, no matter how clean you think it is it's not. As for the converter a higher stall makes it more fun and better to launch. Also don't waste your money on IPT garbage converters, Prescision of New Hampton IA is the place to talk to they will build it to your spec for the same price or less. I got mine from them, 4K stall, no lock up clutch, furnace brased fins $500.

thanks , i will get the vb done from ipt and forget the tc if it doesnt effect the durability , and go with a big external cooler and new lines , and hope we get some miles out of it , my original trans was in question before the motor was upgraded anyway so im hoping this will get us down the road for awhile

The clutch packs is what usually what burns up from high temps, a big external cooler will help.

i called rs motors yesterday and left my info/name and # , looking into getting a local rebuild/help from you guys who know how to hold power , Fuji is going to remove my trans soon , the one i picked up turned out to be the wrong one......so a rebuild of mine is for sure , i hope to use the t.c. from the trans i got from the new wrong trans. if the stall is ok , it was from an 06 n.a. impreza , as of now i want a rebuild of my trans with a modified v.b. and new external cooler/lines for sure , and maybe send out the t.c. to....
