So I decided to go with just a stock WRX turbo for the time being becasue I thought it would make my life easier. WRONG! I have to modify my WRX uppipe, and since I'm running a FMIC on my 98' LGT, I need to figure out if I can rotate the housing so that the turbo outlet is on the passenger side of the car, and not going striaght into my TB (like it is right now). So can I rotate just the outlet housing without the oil/water lines moving? There's a giant snap ring there, but I couldn't get it to budge...Help!?!

not really. because the wg actuator would get in the way

I can easily modify that bracket to work, that's no concern to me.

yeah i think you are SOL here. cant you just run the FMIC piping like all the WRXs do it? i know there is alot of piping but the lag shouldnt be too bad.

by rotating the whole housing you will need to rotate the flange on the up pipe, and then make one messed up down pipe that has like a 90* twist in it, and your oil/coolant lines will still be moved to differnt locations.

Well I was hoping that since there's a giant snap ring on the outlet housing, that I could rotate just that piece. I suppose I could take my turbo apart and see if I can figure it out. I'd be hard pressed to run WRX style IC piping, because I don't have the WRX intake mani, so my TB is in the way.

^ good point. you might try looking for the 90* inlet piece from a t-leg. if you got 2 or those you could route your intake like i did, and you wouldnt need the wrx manifold.

you might be able to rotate the snap rign part to just do the cold side rotation. but you have to look and see if it will fit like that. maybe its a oen way fit thing. are the oil/coolant fittings ont eh hot side? if they are on the cold side it wouldnt work as your coolant/oil feed/returns would be switched.

Correct me if im wrong but isnt there an alignment pin between the cold and center sections that wont allow it to rotate unless you remove it?

So to clock it, I need to take it apart and flatten out that pin then? And I want to go ewg (assuming that stands for external wastegate) but I'm not doing that until I have a bigger turbo. I don't think it'll be hard to modify the Actuator bracket to work with the clocked set up.
