Take it to the dealership, maybe they will be nice to you and give you one for free.

Then learn how to drive a stick before this one goes out.

I'm gonna take a guess at not really.

That is, if you've already burned out one clutch and you've only owned the car for a couple months, chances are most likely that you'll burn out any other clutch you replace it with. Under warranty or not.

I guess it's better the clutch than the transmission. Either way, you should sort out what you might be doing wrong to make the clutch burn out so fast. Clutches are basically designed to last the lifetime of the car nowadays.

My clutch will shudder when it's catching 1st gear after it's been sitting for more than 24 hours. What's that a signal of?

if you have been drag racing the car (which you have) you're going to be facing an uphill battle.

Chances are they take it off, see that the disk is totally mauled and claim that its not a defect, that you've blown it out by launching the car too much (which is probably the case, its pretty hard to lose a clutch that fast otherwise)

so chances are you're going to end up paying for it. If I were you i wouldnt put another oem one in there anyways, you're just as likely to blow it as fast as you blew this one.

I'll put $20 down that whoever does the teardown is going to find a blue flywheel and a worn out disc. How many miles are on the car? How long have you had it? The Subaru warranty covers defects in workmanship, not abuse from drag racing. I'd start looking at a better clutch if I were you, but keep in mind that I've seen a few sheared STI axles from drag racing.

You pay to play. Simple as that.

well actually i was just asking. my clutch isnt slipping or anything. although i have launched it a few times (3 at rock falls) and as a newbie back then i let go of the clutch at 6K and all tires smoke out!(my axle maybe didnt like it) but yeah clutch is fine. im just worried at how much long its going to last even if I dont launch it?

My brother told me that STIs lave a much shorter warranty on the clutch than the WRX because people will wear on it more.

take care it and that clutch will last a long time.

Everytime you want to launch put a 100 bill in your cup holder. Then once it fails you'll have the money to replace it. Can't afford to do that? Don't launch. my .02 for anyone (including myself) that wants to launch. :)

I thought i remember seeing in my warrenty manual thing that the clutch, breaks/pads and wipers are covered for the first 3 years/36k.

You should read that manual as it is listed in there, i just cant remember

The clutch is covered under the 3/36 UNLESS it's been abused, then it's not covered.

My '06 was a dealer demo so I don't know how it had been driven for the first 6k miles, but my clutch went out at 7.2k and I got it replaced as a customer service promo. I was lucky though I assume.

Its pretty normal for the 02-05 cars. It goes away as the car warms up.

Yeah it does go away. I'm just wanting to make sure it's not my clutch giving out. Thanks for the words!
