Very first stickied thread in the technical section... http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php/33211-Where-to-get-tuned-The-local-tuners-thread
Mods? Do you need switchable maps for autox? Are you looking for something in particular like an stu legal map? There are quite a few good tuners in the area, some with a slightly different specialty.
Nuke and Bullwinkle rock. Both are good guys and good tuners. We are lucky to have resources such as them in this area and on this board.
Dyno tuning all of mine is done by DB Performance in Rogers. In fact I'm going in later this month to be tuned to E85
Sheen, no mod. It is for my 11 STI and just want to get a map that fixes the scary lean stock map. How reliable are the Cobb Stage 1 map? I wonder if I should just use that map instead, like running the 91 map with BP 93 octane gas. I'm still going to run B Stock, so I still need to use the stock map for autox
I suggest talking to Nuke or Ronnie. You can get an Accessport and have either of them give you a custom tune for whatever octane. You can flash back to stock whenever you want to for autox. Alternatively, if you have a reliable laptop, you can do the same thing with a cable and the laptop. The accessport will be much more convenient, of course. I would stay away form the Cobb off the shelf map. Consider the Accessport a portable flashing device. The maps that come with it are mediocre at best. Enjoy the STI!
Why in the world would you ever tell anybody that? I'd stay away from him! x infinite btw I suggest you replace your Fuel pressure regulator.
MicroCenter has netbooks for under $300. Just saying.... you could pick one up for yourself and one for me  I am not sure I would work with Nuke. Every time he touches my car it gets faster and runs better. An now it won't even run regular gas... it has to use this Hippie Vegetarian diet of Corn. So stay far far far away.... unless you want to enjoy your car.
Netbooks don't fit in gloveboxes during your run. I good deal on a used AP is under $300. You also need to add in the cost of a cable to the netbook. Thanks for the fanboi response tho!
Well yeah, but you can't play spider solitaire on an AP while you're waiting for the tow truck after pushing your tune too aggressively. It's all about priorities.
There's an Acer netbook at the Target in Cottage Grove, it's tucked away near the books and media department on a clearance shelf, behind a TV or printer or something. 140 bucks I think was the price on the clearance sticker. All I know is that it was heavily discounted..to the point that I was actually considering buying it even though I don't need it at all
Wow, sorry i didn't meet your GERMAN standards with my post. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the "I'm GOD" bed today. I was commenting on your post dude... no need to call me fanboi... WTF man? I wasn't even talking about AutoX... check your post. The word "Alternatively" in your post indicates that he could do the Accessport or he could do something else. So in an effort to expand on your recommendation i suggested he checked out MicroCenter for cheap netbooks. I know a few people who have picked up netbooks from there within the last few months for under $300. So jump off your high horse dude. My post was good advice.
ive had very good luck with ron at RS motors and bullwinkle has been doing mine and multiple of my friends tunes and always done a great job too.
I have a netbook that fits perfectly in my glovebox. Some padding to keep it from bouncing around, auto power adapter, and I can log during my autocross runs. Picked it up at Microcenter, refurbished for about $180.00. Now I need to find a way to video out of the netbook, into the rear camera port on my head unit. DB Performance for my last tune.
You MIGHT be able to do something else with your netbook. There is no other real purpose for an accessport. Any netbook will work, will any used accessport work with the 2011 STI the OP has? Anyone with a netbook or an accessport in the glove box isn't a real autoxer anyway - the extra weight cuts into your time.
