It's the same sort of venue they hold Cars and Coffee at. It's a great idea at first, high end garages for collectors to store and show off their high end exotics and classics. Then they start showing off their cars to car enthusiasts. Then a bunch of hipster buttholes and self-anointed armchair car show promoters start taking over, and within a year or two you go there for one of their events thinking you're going to see a bunch of cool rare rich people cars, you battle with a bunch of auto-enthusiast wanks for 30 minutes to an hour for parking, and when you eventually get an opportunity to walk around the complex, you find out they let any old asshole park their rust buckets or daily driver crap all over the place. After 30 minutes of laughing at stance-tarded Infinitis and Audis and VWs, you leave and vow never to return to such a thing. Then they build another complex like this and you repeat the above scenario.
I really dont think its that bad, the VWs get overwhelming, but I've always had a good time going. Its much more adult than firestone, thats why I go to CnC instead, and I'm fancy now. And I can bring my boy, he enjoys it. There are still TONS of actual high end **** that comes, most of the mock-style cars are tucked away in the corner, you can choose to walk down there, but you dont have to. You literally dont have to walk past one retard car (unless there is a stanced S class benz) to get to the good stuff. The Domestic stuff is even pretty good, not too many knuckle draggers.
Agreed I've never had to wait more than 5-10 mins max to leave the lot. I go early leave early, never have any issues other than idiots who hammer out wheel wells then buy wide rims but can afford the right size tires. But that's a different story....
I'd check it out if it was like C&C and only took me 5 minutes to get to. Curious to see how it turns out.
Firestone's been dead for a while, dude. I like hanging around HarMar. Lots of american muscle hanging around on the weekends. Reminds me of old Uni with the pro-street crowd roaring up and down the street.
Well, I loved firestone, now however, I dont like driving all the way down in the evening, I'm a morning person. Get my car viewing done in the morning and I have the rest of my day to do other rubbish.
We went to the last one of the season and it was going to be our "last" time going if it was the same as a few others. They finally got smart and started judging cars out in the street before they they would let them in. It was a whole different show. It was back to the way it used to be 3 years ago. I figured if it was going to be another pokey rim festival then that was going to be my last adventure to the other side of the globe. After the event, I will go back again next summer. Lots of cops to keep the stupid to a minimum and guys hand picking cars in the street to let in. Overall it was nice show with lots of non-standard cars. Hopefully this new place will adopt the same idea of keeping it unique. Russ
Last time I went to C&C they actually had someone directing parking. That makes a huge difference for me. I like taking the kid and walking the exotics. I can't do that if there's a pretty good chance I won't be able to leave for hours due to the derp while parking. Second to last time I had a guy try to give me attitude because he was actively trying to park me in while I was leaving and I wouldn't move. That was after waiting 45 minutes for the last doucherocket to move and let the 15-20 cars he'd ****ed over leave. I can't deal with when I have my kid around. Anyway, the problem was solved with one dude directing parking last time out. That's all speculation anyway. Who knows if they'll do shows like that.
Wow, that almost makes me want to brave the trip and check it out next year. I would get there early to watch the initial "judging" to see stance tards get their dreams crushed, then enjoy some cars.
They waved me through and even said "sweet benz" when I brought my 190, it was nothing to behold, but it wasnt a ****box.
