Trying to help my mom find a "new" car and hoping someone here might have a good lead on one. She's limited to about $5k or less so it's turning into a bit of a challenge for me to find anything decent. Looking for either a Forester or Legacy/Outback wagon, needs to be an auto (she has lupus and it's caused some issues with her legs, so she can't deal with a clutch for very long anymore). Minimal rust would be preferred but that's kind of unavoidable around here, obviously. Age isn't really important, not too concerned with mileage as long as it's been taken care of and isn't too worn out, but hoping to find something under 150-175k or so. I'm keeping a consistent watch online and wherever I happen to go for work, but I'd appreciate any help I can get here. Thanks.
I will be selling my 05 OBXT this week. I was hoping to get more then 5k for it but a situation like this for a quick easy sale may appeal to me. Car is an automatic. Only downside being it does have exhaust on it. Car has 130k on the chassis 60k on the motor.
That would be perfect, and if the exhaust bothers her then swapping it out and passing it along to another OB owner wouldn't be much of an issue I don't think. $5k is right about the limit of what she's got to spend so if you're able to let it go for that it'd be a done deal. Let me know if that'll work for you and when we'd be able to pick it up. I'm actually off all week after today so my schedule is pretty flexible. Thanks!
Props for a potential win-win situation! Unsure though how there can be a discussion about a car for a female and no mention of color.
Lol my grandma was white, as a matter of fact. The wagon is for my mom though, who is also white. Grandma wagon is because she's the grandma to my kids, who are only sort of white.
Sounds like he's just looking for an affordable grandma now, current one is white, but seems like he's open to other options.
At this rate, we'll need to move this to the craigslist (personals) thread. Also, hope JJ's obxt works out.
