I'm looking at this STi intercooler for sale online and wondered if it's safe? It has two holes threaded for Meth injection (I'll post a picture below). He said I can just put two bolts in place or weld them shut. But is this a good idea? Or am I just asking for problems? [IMG]

I dont see why you could'nt weld them up, should be fine. Just make sure to flush it out really good.

I believe those to parts are cast aluminum, which I've heard can be on the tricky side to weld.. you'd better be getting a REALLY good deal to want to go through all that trouble.

If its threaded find out the thread pitch and get a pipe plug and put pipe dope on it and thread them in it should be ok

I'm not even going to go through the hassle anymore. I'm truly trying to find one locally now. Let me know if you find one in good condition!

There are plenty of STi intercoolers available out there...I'd wait for one that hasn't been tapped for meth injection if that's what you need.

Ditto. These parts are not expensive to get. There's little point buying a compromised product. Items set up for meth should just be sold to those who are planning to run meth. Otherwise, just fine some that you don't have to fix to use. Bolts do work for holes, but you also have the bolt stuck in the air path which creates some restriction. It's not a big deal, but it's there. Also, welding will likely be tough, so if you intend to, get someone good to do it. You are of course paying extra money for this which counters some of the value you might be getting from purchase. Just wait and buy someones good one when they mod their STI. Just wait a little bit.
