My cd player crapped out on me on the way to work this morning. I hit the cd button and load button and I can hear things moving around inside but it tries to play the disc and then just powers itself off. Becuase the cd button doesn't work I had to try to get it to play with the power off and pressing the cd number button to turn the cd player back on - which in turn tried to play and shut itself back off. The eject button will not function either. Anyone know if there's a reset button or should I just disconnect the battery cable and see if that fixes it? Has anyone had a problem like this?
Well do you have any homemade cds that has the sticker on the top??if you do you will have to remove the audio unit and inspect it if a cd is stuck. if it is stuck dont try to take it out try to push it back in its position in the audio unit. then plugged it back in and then try ejecting it then. ohh any error codes on the radio display??
mine in my 02 jammed once, I took it out, took some of it apart and got all the cd's out. Works great now...
U ever try resetting yours before you pulled it apart? In my past experience with about 10 different car cd players, resetting it has fixed the problems about 90 percent of the time.
Pulling the battery terminal is the only to reset it. Pull it then wait a few sec. Do you have any cassette tape?? If you do stick one in, it worked for me when my changer acting funny one time.
It jammed, I pulled it out put my pioneer deck in because I did not want to deal with it right then. Tryed it in my dads subaru, still not working Put it back in my car, still not working Pulled it out, tore it apart, removed the CD's reinstalled into my car, works great... So yeah there was a reset or 2 in there before I tore it apart.
Just tried powering down the battery and that did nothing to help the situation. I'm going to try to tear everything apart tonite and see if that fixes it. Thanks for the hints guys....also thanks to Ben and I may be contacting you soon if I can't fix this tonite.
Let me kow if you want me to take a look at it. I will be out of town for the weekend, but I can look at it next week...
Thanks, Bill. I'm going to try to rip it apart tonite. If it doesn't work Ben has his stocker that he can sell me and I can just power that one up instead. Hopefully it doesn't come to that tho :laugh:
Don't rip it apart, slap the side of the center console thing around where the cd player is Should pop right out Make sure you click the "eject" button, then give it a few slaps on the right side of the cd changer while you can hear it "trying" to get the disks out works for some
Too late. He brought it over here, I gave him my old one, then we stuffed his full of fireworks and hit it with a sledgehammer
Wow I didn't see this got bumped. Yes there was destruction :slayer: ....also a science experiment with the front part for my blue led or bulb condom work in progress. We now know how to take the front apart without breaking stuff and what needs to be done...kind of. Hopefully Dan(turbo_turtle) will see this and send us a write up as to what he did cuz man that looks ugly in there :bowdown:
