It's been decided!

After being told by Jake (JNorthWRX) the previous owner of my car I needed to change the look of the car in the summer I have fully decided to paint the rims ... BRONZE!!! :yumyum:

There is something about dark bronze and silver that looks soooo good. But I can't decide on the finish (matte or gloss)? So give your opinion please.

Here is the look I am after and yes the car is an 05 with the slightly darker silver but we get the point.

Silver/bronze is very sexy. Here's a pic of mine. Yes, the windshield tint and drop are photoshopped in the second pic, but it is now lowered this year I just don't have the summer wheels on yet lol.

 

I'm pretty certain mine are a matte finish...




They also look to be a fair bit darker than your example...

go matte, gloss is too light, you should give the grimspeed wheel paint a try.

 

scratch the grimspeed coment, they offer gold, u want broze.

 

Now I have to go re-coat my bronze rims...

First time, there all original ... Jake said change the look I agreed. As of right now Mike and I plan to do it. If it turns out off par so be it but I think we can do a good job.

 

prep work is key for painting, but I am sure both you and mike know that.

 

i typically like to rub down the surface with vasoline first

I vote matte. But if you might have them professionaly done I would say go with a nice silky smooth powder coat.
