Well, I am now carless, finally sold the Spec V (using my parent's truck in the meantime), need to get my butt in a new car! Looking for 2010 on up Forester XT, budget is going to be 17-18k, just have to scout out places for a loan. Like my feeler before, looking for one with under 80k, and unmolested. May be buying a house soon, so that's pretty much my limit. Going to keep looking on the usual sites, really don't want to travel cross country for something that could very well be a lemon.

Yes, it's about 3-4k out of my price range. Thanks for the offer though!

Took an "alloy" version of the Forester for a drive today...felt like i was driving in a base model KIA. Looks like I'll have to do either the Premium or Limited. I do love the view from inside though.. barely any blind spots. People on the Forester forum were right though...seriously lacking in the "oomph" category for the base 2.5. Too bad the best deal is about 1900 miles away at the moment...may be taking a road trip.

Thanks for those! I'm looking more on the lines of the XT model though. I thought the 2.5 N/A was pretty gutless when you pressed the fun pedal. And really? The thing that was a wow moment for me was, "wow, 18k and no damn cup holders?" All they had were the square holes. My coffee would spill everywhere!

One of the things we didn't like about our 2013 forester was the lack of cup holders, too bad to traded the car in yesterday

Congrats! Hope you got something better~! Lots of ghetto mods on the Forester site to remedy that.
