Who would be interested in a set of PPG 1-2 Straight Cut & 3-4 Helical Gear Set? It would fit the 02-05 WRX, I'm not sure about the 06 I would have to double check on that... I maybe heading a different route with my project REX. But again this is just a feeler: -PPG Gear Set $3200 -PPG Front LSD $1100 -1 peice Aluminum Driveshaft $440 -PPG Billet Forks $330 -All necessary parts needed for install Baulk rings, O-Rings, Oil seal, synchro set, etc. $180 These are all "brand new" If I can not get my $$$ back then I would just keep going with the Project.
PPG just came out with the Center & Rear LSD with an Output shaft...If your gonna crack open the tranny might as well upgrade everything...No prices on them yet though.
3200 you said, when are you willing to sell? And I'd probably want the PPG forks and the rebuild kit too. Can you go any lower in price? Reason I ask about the time frame for the sale is that I need to beg my wife for the money to do this, and she isn't going to be too pleased and may just tell me 'no' since my tranny isn't dead yet.
Tell her if you don't do it now, its gonna break at an inopportune time, and you'll have to waste $3k on another tranny that will break again. :mercy:
Guys, she knows this thing is coming...but busting my tranny now would be a bit improbable. She is expecting it to break next summer, not now before winter.
Tell her either way it is going to need to be replaced. Why not buy them now and do it all at once while the motor is out, instead of being 20-30 miles or more away from home and having the tranny break. Then you have to pay to have it towed home which probably be $100-150 if not more to have it towed home.
It doesn't work out that easily alex. While Jason's sig. other is really nice, that doesn't justify jason just spending 3 some grand on tranny parts when his works fine the way it is. Granted it won't work great for very long running mondo boost, it's not so easy to spend that kinda money on something that isn't currently broken!
