i was thinking, to avoid people buying totalled subies that are supposedly clean, would probably be a good idea to post old vins so no one gets screwed over by someone trying to sell it as clean. ever since mine died, was hoping that someone didn't buy it thinking it was clean after some bodywork. so, if this sounds like a good idea, then i'll start it off when i get home.

Isn't that what carfax is for? Most (99.9%) subies that get totalled are from people who never visit this board. It would be better to just spend the $20 on a carfax report than give someone a false sense of security that they didn't see the vin on mnsubaru.
in some cases put vin.# can also means that someone can locate your car and where u live...if they try hard enough...it is just like a license plate..
