heres what the guy at fp said... "It actually says tdo5 on the cover but its not. We machine the housings to fit the new wheels "...
That better be true  But you will now need to save up for a new tranny Good luck BTW, I get to drive it, right?
damn rite...but hey..you're second on the list...me first...!!!.. i just got done putting the turbo in and starting on the injectors...topmount should be simple..and then walbro...by then cai should be here and then tune...man..writing about it make it seems quick but it'll be longer... thanks guys...any guesses on what my dyno #'s gonna be..??..
is it really that bad..??..cause my driving habits are not bad at all...and i'm gonna be babying this for awhile...so what's all the talk about getting new tranny..??..
I say 300-310hp btw, the tq from your new 2.5l and now 18g, oh man, your tranny is already screaming death if you want, let's just take Fuji's out of his car, he doesn't need the 6spd
Nice! So it's really a Td06 hmm. Get that tranny rebuilt! I know a guy with an 02WRX and his tranny blew when testing out his Cobb Stage 2 Map.
maybe he should have tested out his driving ability first.... I drove a Cobb Stg2 for well over 40K and also then WallofTvs tune for about another 10-15K
Yes, all this talk of tranny death is... disturbing. I drove the piss out of my Stage 2 with MANY drag passes and track days and only had some minor 4th gear synchro trouble. Just remember that it's AWD and that driveline shock is bad. My $0.02 worth. And for those pushing big power on 2.5 w/big turbos I personally know 4 people with 18G-20G setups on their stock trannies in their 02 (you know, the bad 02 with the little gears) WRXs that are still tooling around.
yeah, me personally - 45,000 on stage two + 17,000 with 16g = transmission still shifts smooth and no wierd noises. But I change my scotty's cocktail every 15,000 miles.
^me:138,000+stock=no issues 138,000+stage2=made it to 148,000 and broken tranny. Ice races, rallyxing, fun runs...it gets used and abused. giggity!
ok..i'm having the HARDEST time trying to get the y-pipe to fit onto the turbo...i've tried everything...trust me....is there a special hose i need to buy for it to fit...??..it seems like from under the car that the silicon hose is too short...what do you guys with aps tm do for it to fit..??..thanks..
stock wrx hose is too short due to the larger tmic your connections for the y pipe are shifted towards the drivers side and higher up. didn't you get some longer hoses with the tmic...or just the IC itself?
i bought it used so the one that came with the ic is all torn up..know any place that sells just hoses...??..i'm just gonna buy something with 90 degree angle and make it work..
http://www.siliconeintakes.com/prod...d=355&osCsid=3224aa669385cc83e5679994adc25241 ok..sorry to bring this back up but i bought this and still don't fit...or cant get it to go onto the turbo...all you guys out there with aps tmic please shime in...tuning day is may 9th...so i need this in...thanks..
or should i be going with this one...?? http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/samco-sti-intercooler-hose-kit-p-2469.html i just don't wanna keep buying new hose...i've got three different ones already and all of them the same...this one looks longer...??
for a possilbly cheap option.... check to see if you can buy the coupler in this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-0...011QQitemZ320246794005QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW i used that top mount for a bit and while it was a BI*CH to get on, it worked. make sure you dont hit your waste gate line like i did and didnt notice till i spiked 20psi. Good luck. i gutted my scoop and the butt dyno approved of a difference.
man...six long months and finally have the car running....just got back from rs motors earlier...man..can't wait to get this thing broken in...will post pics later...rite now i'm at work..
