i have a big TMIC and a turbo back exhaust i hit a 1.7 60' and a 12.9 1/4 mile time, is this decent? i've heard stock sti' guys go this fast... so i'm kinda dissappointed
That does seem alittle on the slow side but there are so many variables why you didnt go faster. Your 60' looks decent though. Time for a Accessport or UTEC + tune.
im actually hoping justin or someone can help me port and polish a few things, like my wastegate, and oem header, for alittle more power. i'd like to get a AP, but they are really pricey and i still consider suspension more important in my list right now
I think the stock ECU has fuel cut at 19psi or soemthing like that so I dont think you will blow your motor up that way BUT, the spray will catch up sooner or later...tick tock tick tock....
Congrats on the 1.7 60' time. What's your MPH??? The MPH tells us the potential of your STi. But I'd say you're right on the mark with your mods and 60'. The general above-average 1/4 mile times for a stock STi is 13.3 @ ~103 MPH. The stock STis that get 12.9 pretty much perfected the shift points and their launch.
I think 12.9 is good for just a TBE and TMIC...Considering the stock STi is @ 13.5-13.7...But I agree, u need a tune. Let me know if u need the AP I should be able to still get them...
for someone who is as interested in racing as you are and with such an expensive car its a little suprising that an AP wouldn't be considered before PnP and a bigger IC... IMHO the bigger IC is pretty much a waste since you're running almost entirely stock setup. Especially for drag racing as its not like a 12-15 seconds of throttle is going to badly heatsoak the IC. A proper tune will wake up the power in the car a lot better. Then I'd think about water/meth injection for a dragster. AP's are not terribly expensive when you consider that it a) can keep you from blowing your engine up by just sticking mods onto it b) can make your car faster and tuneable for your mods c) provides a bigger bang/buck ratio than most other mods Since it's just a drag/street car you can get away with all sorts of less expensive suspension options like forgoing camber plates, keep your stock sways etc. PS: nobody gives a fuch about who is a "street king." if you can replicate that on a track with a big crowd watching and under legitimate rules then respect is due.
I might have an 04 STi AP available...Let me know..the one I got coming is already SOLD but I can get more.
