I don't think you sign up, rather you just fall into it. ;)

That actually looks really, really, really fun. Sadly, I must choose between a turbo-back exhaust and a wingsuit (they're about the same price). Unfortunately I know which one to pick, seeing as flying off cliffs isn't part of my daily life.

    Yet. :hsugh:

there's great video footage of some squirrel suit action in warren miller's cold fusion too. i looooooove his movies. they did a warren miller marathon on showtime extreme (or whatever its called) one day - i taped all of them. :) i think cold fusion might be my favorite though. they also showed some of it in higher ground.

unfortunately the really awesome scene is the one which comes right after the one i posted and in the movie they say that it's the longest freefall jump on record i think. granted, it was 2006 so that might be outdated but dude is in the air for a good minute - it's insane. plus it shows the copper mountain freeride team gettin wild with their bus in a parking lot. AWESOME!!! it just reaffirms the fact that copper mtn is the best mtn in the rockies. ;)

Hence this not being part of my daily life. That and my fear of badly injuring myself so I can't support the life I want to lead...

OMG Id be all over that, Probably the biggest rush of your life. Just make sure not to make a wrong move that close to the wall going that fast. Id still do it!! Thats probably the closest youd ever come to having a superpower like on hancock. I wonder how much that would cost??

The suits alone are around a grand each, not to mention travel expenses, etc...

Actually, a minute of FF isn't that much. IIRC you only need around 11-14k feet of altitude for a jump like that. An airplane jump from that altitude is commonplace. If you're talking basejumping, that's another story. There are a couple of VERY high altitude records from the 60s when the US and USSR were doing high altitude tests for their space program.
