Will, there's a few guys in here who uses radar detector. You may want to check with bikerboy or wrx1 and a few others.

    Capone,

I wish you the best of luck with the V1....but don't rely on it too much....check my older post...most cops use laser now, and when they zip you is allllll over....

Does the V1 only detect K-band or something?

It detects laser I think, but if you are speeding, by the time it detects laser they already have you by the balls. I don't think you can rely on any one detector...you have to use some common sense too.

    v1 detects everthing but pop.
v1 is a very nice unit, but even a very nice unit will get you a ticket if the cops are using laser.

i went from the bel 975r to the belpro rx75 with the bel add on 905 laser defense system.
so far i've been deadon directly tagged in a laser trap once, coming into downtown on 394.... and made it through... as i passed, the cop was looking at the gun and had a slightly puzzled look.

laser traps, you will find, will only be out on overcast days. sunlight is bad..
there is a film, that you can get to block your lamps, your plate, and i think your nose.. kind of like a rockblocker but made to reflect close to zero % laser.

you can do that but good luck getting it shipped to MN unless it is through a second hand dealer. Any sort of laser diffuser or stopper is now illegal in MN so it is tough to get your hands on them unless you buy them through ebay

i can buy bel at wholesale, not belprol.
the laser defense add on is standard bel.
i had to get the rx75 at retail.

the laser sales laws are a little lax in mn.
and the units that block look identical to the newer style laser sensors... no way to really tell visably.
i believe ultimate electronics sells the full escort system..

not built in really, you buy the add on defense system that has an extra box, 3 blockers, and a cable to connect with some of their detectors which have the ability to communicate and control the blocker..

in bel dash mount units you go with either the 965 or the 995 then add on the lp-905. i do not know the corrosponding escort model #'s

for the stealth set up yes.
but i believe some of their <$200 dash units have the blocker control codes.
    i'll look.

fwiw the beltronics full stealth system with blocking will cost you about $800

I don't think you were. I remember when I bought my 8500 a couple years back I bought the jammer system with it, it was only ~$300 at the time. I ended up taking it back after seeing what a pain it was to mount, which I regret. It's a bummer if they don't offer it anymore seperately.

Also, mine does have protection against pop. In the box it had a sheet talking about how this is the most updated version. It stated that it had POP and all those who want to know if they do. Turn it on and it should say "P" "o" "P" (In the display) after all the alerts go off.

yes, it is a bit disconcerting to pass by the speed trap with out a chirp......

pop has the potential to be a bigger problem than ladar if they can get it to function correctly...
