Wohoo! I just received a Package @ work...Plus I'm here all day, but I'll post pics when I get home later tonight. 8 Piston Brake Kit w/ 2 Peice Slotted Rotors...By K-Sport...Gett'in my Rear 6 pots next week...
Oh ya, Make sure you bring those rotors down to Deversified so they can treat them. They will out live the car after that. Russ
U don't, *Bling Bling* honestly I wouldn't need more than a 4 pot...But hey its nice to have that extra security and for *Bling* Factor...
If you have the stock Brembos for the STi isn't it a 4 pot and 2pot rear? Just wait til u see my rears come in...haha...6pot rears next week... Did u get an Upgrade Shorty?
hey russ how much does it cost to get the rotors treated? i might wanna have my cross drilled brembos done before i put'm on
yeee boi!! 2.0.. haha its been sitting in my back seat for about a week. i just gotta get a tune time with russ or db. hopefully it will be tuned in the next week or so.
thats what i was gunna try but if i did that i would need to put everything back to stock which wouldnt be too hard accept i have the ssqv and i traded my stock bov to se7enrex so i cant put that back on.
The calipers weigh like 5-7lbs but the Rotors weighs a ton...The whole front brake kit package weighs just under 70lbs.
haha yea when i was bringing my new cross drilled's up to my room i nearly broke my leg taking them up the stairs and i took a nasty spill lol.
i know i cant stand my fuel cut anymore. hopefully russ can road tune it in a week or so and then when it gets a little warmer out i can get db to protune it!
He's just jealous of your package....i'm getting a package today too!..but mine is much smaller ..my new i850 camera phone from Nextel=w00t!
haha...Nah Nate ish cool...He's got the complete Package I may have the 8 piston, but he has 8 car Garage w/lifts...haha
Hahaha...you'll get there some day! Just have to remove some other stuff that you don't need to even out the weight issue! Btw=Instead of upgrading that big...why didn't you just go for the rear deploy parachute set-up!?LOL...probably would have been a down grade in stopping ability...but would have been lighter!!! :bowrofl:
If my car starts to take off like a Concord and speeds of Mach III...I don't think a Parachute or a brake kit can slow me down...Thank god for Downshifting and PPG gears...haha
Actually I have! But they don't get ya the right lift...would need to be more gullwingish! Btw...have you ever seen a reverse lambo kit for a rear door assembly!? I think the lambo front/suicide rear looks ok...but I want to do the lambo front/reverse lambo rear. So the mounts and hinges would need to be in the back of the rear doors instead of the current hinges position by the center post.
U - G - L - Y.......... suicide doors look good on OLD gangsta cars... not new cars... ok there are some that are passable if done well...
Yes Nate ...I said they look ok. I'm interested in something else I've never seen before. Rear lambo doors that go back like suicide doors, but not back and out...back and up! I drew a picture in a sketch book a while back of what the wrx might look like with the set-up. If I can find it, i'll try to scan it in and post it up for ya.
actually it was on oil gauge that was never hooked up... coming from a guy who spends gazillions on a car making it fast and never drives it.... ha ha ha thats why I like mine... reasonably fast and yes I drive it in the snow, rain and SUNSHINE!!!
I'm going to have to think this over. I can't think of a good thing to say just yet. But I figure I've got some good material here with a scissor door show car with 8 pot calipers that never drives and another car with 19" wheels and an oil gauge on the hood that isn't connected. I'll think this over and get back to you.
yes...I have Josh, The back doors flying up with be great, that came across in my mind a few times as well...But the Fabrication that u have to do to get the hinges welded on is closer to the impossible side, because of the limited space and size of the impreza...If you saw the hinge to attach it you'll be shocked how much space u need to even fit it in...It was tough enough with the front fenders (took about a month of measuring, cutting, welding, etc). We only had 2mm of space to work with... I think it will look sweet, but no one has done it yet because it is close to impossible unless u custom make the hinge yourself...A lot fo R&D. Plus u would need to relocate your door handles to the front...Now when I said close to impossible it is on the IMPREZA models, not other car makes..Plus it would be a hassle to open and close them because they both can hit corners...
Bumpy Update with pics...to the TOP! If anyone wants to know how wide these calipers are both front calipers are on the AP box that is about 12.5 in. combined width...and it weighs around 5lbs. ea...
