My son said he was going down the street to play at his friends. Well he's only 7, him and 5 of his friends got in a car with one of there 16yr old sisters. Well she started messing around and lost control of the car and rolled it into some trees. My son thankfully was smart enough to put his belt on. Walked away with a gash on his knee and shaken up. Should I be contacting a lawyer? Just got outta the ER. I'm pretty shaken up and just wanna say thanks to god for not taken my son from me.
That is a good start. From the damage and the pic's it looks like there were some more serious injuries. I pray for you and the others injured. Lawyer- I would let the dust settle if possible. Try and let rational heads prevail. Give it a night and see how you feel in the am.
I think Medic gave the best advice. See how you and your son feel in the morning. Looking at the airbags, the driver and those with her learned their lesson. She's probably the safest person under 21 for your son or any of those kids to drive with now. I rolled a car 9 years ago and remember how changed I was. Looks like it was hard for everybody. Glad your son is ok!
Glad your little boy is still with us. I agree with Medic, but on the same note, make sure the insurance company or the girls parents pay for the medical treatment your son received. After that, chalk it up to an experience that she won't soon forget! Goes to show how good of a parent you are too, son is 7 and buckles up! Smart kid! Those pictures look nasty, hope everyone else in the car is doing alright too!
Oh hai morning nausea. I can see my 4 year old in that picture. Not comforting. See what the insurance situation is. I wouldn't go the lawyer route unless you have to in order to care for your son. Ethical objections to using a lawyer for everything aside, it will complicate things for everyone involved.
Wow, i'm glad that you've been in my prayers for the last couple of months. I'm so thankful that nobody was killed! It was a foolish mistake by an immature teenager that didn't know any better. Hope that all of the other kids are ok too. I'm with the guys above that said to make sure that ALL of the medical stuff is taken care of by her/her families insurance. Other than that, just be thankful...very thankful! God bless you and your family brother!
wounds and broken bones heal.... death is final and doesnt heal as quick for those left... good to hear all are ok given the incident!!
I'm very happy that your son is alright. Now that I'm a father i have a whole different perspective on things and can't imagine the mind set you were in when you heard this. Definitely a blessing that everyone survived.
At the very least, make sure the other family covers ALL current and possible future medical expenses. I would guess that in a day or 2 the real issues might show up. Glad everyone is ok. Russ
Wow, I am so glad your Son is okay! It must take a lot of strength to not completely flip at the driver and/or her family
I count 7 total people in a car that most likely has belts for 5. And... A passenger limitation for the first six months of licensure allows only one passenger under the age of 20, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. During the second six months of licensure, no more than three passengers under the age of 20 are permitted, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Passengers under age 20 who are members of the immediate family are permitted for both periods. If she is still 16 she has to be under 1 year of licensure.
^ Good catch. Anyone know what direction an insurance company might take? My guess would be to consider it a violation of terms and hold payment? I forgot the law had changed and it makes me wonder if the Gov. will press charges. On other fronts - thats a pretty insignificant amount of blood, even for a 16 year old girl. Bet it freaked her out though!
Your thinking it was from the driver? There are 7 people 5 seatbelts. I would bet that the driver had her belt on. The blood is probably from one of the non-belted person's. Since it is a rollover, the death toll being 0 is nothing short of a miracle especially with this car having a sunroof. It could be as simple as a small head laceration. Those things bleed like it's going out of style. My guess is the one with the arm injury. It is sad in all aspecs. I know I did stupid things as a child and I was fortunate to not have to suffer through something like this. I feel for starkall and hope that this has no ill will on him or his family and that this is just a small bump in life. The insurance company will pay the claim. They have to. There is a (usually) 30,000 dollar limit on claims made during a traffic crash. She was using the car for what it is intended for. More than likely, she is on her parents insurance and that would be a mood point. The violation is subject to county enforcement and is not even a violation that officer's could do a traffic stop for. It is like the old seatbelt law. They would pull you for 2 mph over the speed limit and give you a seatbelt ticket. Most officers are not up to every law change (how could they be) and some are operating on old ones. It is (as they say) the job of the driver to know the laws. While I agree partly, I have had my fair share of disputable issues with the uniform and I work beside these people.
Glad to hear your son and everyone else made it out with their lives. I can't imagine how scary this was for you.
