Selling my Kenwood DDX616 head unit with the optional Navigation Module.
This is in perfect working order, already wired for Subaru and will include the Ipod/Iphone adapter (not for the 5 models) and a USB port expander. I used this to run the Iphone adapter and another usb extension cable for a flash drive since the unit only has 1 usb port. I never had any issues with this configuration. \

The start up screen and background screen are completely customizable, along with the colors of the controls. I have updated all the firmware, except the maps. The unit is ready for new maps, I just didn't bother with the purchase.

The GPS is a separate module. I had this mounted in my glove box. System does have bluetooth, but will not stream music via the bluetooth. I was able to stream pandora through the Iphone interface by starting the app manually on the phone. It won't start using the head unit interface.

I will happily answer any questions. Unit is pulled and ready to go. Here's a crappy video. I really should have thought about this before I pulled it out...

I think you will need a sperate module for that. The link in my description will take you to Crutchfield, that should tell you.

This is a bit off topic, but how did you get the Subaru start up screen? Is there simply an option built in for you to customize it? I have a Kenwood Excelon DDX790 and I don't believe it has this feature built in...good luck with the sale!

Most Head Units allow you to change the start up screen and/or background wallpaper. You should be able to upload your own picture via usb/memory card

@MNGman, what did you get to replace this?

From my limited research, I found that it requires a special gama tool that only Kenwood dealers have access to use...here: http://www.kenwoodforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3734
I was just curious if he had a built in option on his or if there was some other fancy way it was updated. Don't mean to thread jack. Someone will scoop this up - very nice unit.

No special tool needed. I found a .jpg image and used that. You load that onto a blank USB device and during start up press a couple of buttons and then the new screen is in use. It is a very easy process. I can't say if this is an option for the DDX790.
Lots of YouTube videos for adjusting, and changing boot and background screens.
