Anybody see it? Sounds like he barely escaped a loss. He's a beast, but I don't think he'll amount to much in MMA...too old and too much a one-hit wonder.

He and Brock Lesnar should fight...Bombs Away!

I saw it. It was good. He is a stand up fighter and not too great on the ground, but he's learning. Looked effortless for him, but his opponent had him moving that's for sure.

    Win by TKO for Kimbo.

The ear explosion was crazy. I take it cauliflower ear means the ear is just blood filled?
    Gross!

That was a good fight too. I thought for sure that smith would take it, but lawler was tearing him up. Too bad for the fingers to the eye. That would hurt!

Anyone see the girls fighting before that? Braid girl had the fattest eye I have ever seen. That other girl was mean! That's the type of girl that I would want to spit on me, pull my hair and rock me in the bedroom! And she was hot!

I have no idea what was up with his ear, cauliflower ear is really just a result from the cartilage being broken up and fusing back together. that looked more like a giant boil or something.

remember kids ear sex is not safe sex. lol

Did the guy have 'flower ear? I've seen those explode in other MMA fights...it's like a water balloon exploding...nasty, but not dangerous to the fighter...just REALLY messy.

back to the Original Post. Kimbo looks like he has been working on his ground work, definately not a pro but maybe if he keeps at it....

The bell definately saved him but he came back next round and was bringin it imo

Kimbo looked gassed. I think he needs to work on some cardio as well. The guy can land some serious hits though. I can't believe the other guy didn't go down. The look on his face for a couple punches that Kimbo landed was priceless.

Meh, Kimbo will be proven to be nothing but hype just like Bob Sapp was. Any ranked fighter will finish him off quickly. James Thompson is a chump, watch the fight again, his technique is terrible he missed a ton of submissions. When I lived in Cali I trained, fought MMA, and was a Muay Thai teacher and I can tell you that if Kimbo went down to AKA, Fairtex or Cesar Gracie's gym he would get beat in every gym. Put Kimbo in there against Crocop or fedor and it wouldn't go past a round.

The real fight is on tonight, Faber will win and retain his title. Nor-Cal!

haha yeah Kimbo sucks on the mat, if he could improve on it somehow he's gonna be a beast. Can't deny that he would probably out-box most people though.

I have to agree to a certain point. Kimbo is NOT at all a great fighter, but like he said, he is still learning and you can tell he has improved. His ground work was not great, but he still didn't look too bad. Yea he missed a lot of submissions, but this guy is a street fighter and doesn't know mixed martial arts. He has only been in 3 cage fights. That's not a lot at all. I'm sure someone with a lot more training will beat him, but from where he came from and started, he looks pretty good.

He aint a boxer.. he is a BRAWLER...

there is not real ability in his form... he swings and swings HARD!!!

when he gets tired he cant even hit a guy on the open chin.. taps the shoulder while puffing...

I would love to see Randy Couture take him, or even him against Brock Lesnar just for the sheer power they both have and no skill.. not too many people would pick Kimbo up like a rag doll.. I think Brock would...

Faber!! Now that's a real fight card there. The eliteXC show sucked except for the Lawler fight. Man Torres looked good too, that guy is way underrated in the pound for pound rankings. WEC has some good talent.

Next up in August, St. Paul's Roger Huerta against Kenny Fiorian

Yeah, UF is freaky but JP took it all for 5 rounds. I'm not a fan of "moral victories" but JP hung in there. UF clearly won.

Torres didn't wow me. He snuck in one RH that caused the swelling otherwise the Japanese fella was right there. Bad luck for the opponent who would have been better served by a nice cut like the one he opened on Torres in Round 1.

I still don't understand how these fighters with some really extensive forms of mixed Martial arts on their resume walking around with these big ego's and all they do in the ring is start swinging, their defense goes out the window and their calm technical stragies are lost in the confusion and become raging bulls. There are only a few fights I've seen where it even worth watching, otherwise it all comes down to who get the lucky punch. But for now I'll keep it at WWE, at least there you see the ladies and the CEO get PAWN.

Anyway on the subject of the Internet fighter, I thinks its been clear they have been protecting him from good fighters. But none the less the important thing is everyone is going to want to see how Kimbo will bounce back from this defeat.

Yes! finally the sport is free of the BS hype machine that is Kimbo Slice. He belongs in the WWF with Ken Shamrock.

Sure, but Kimbo has no MMA experience, and is just a big street brawler. He got his **** tackled and deserved it. He's simply not a MMA fighter, and as the article you quoted said, any fighter with legit MMA experience will annihilate him.
