Me and my wife are fostering 3 kittens and she told me I get to name them lol. (Big mistake) they are all female. Not likely that the new caretakers will end up keeping these names anyway it's just for their adoption post and records and such.
I was expecting more car related names. Skids. Wheelie. Turbo. My wife hates everything I suggest lol.
It's a personality/ how did you become owner of said cat to give it a name.... I have a male named Chewbacca because of the noises he made in the crate on the way home. Another is named Ziptie... she was a kitten we found with a smashed tail on the side of the road....
This is how the foster program works. We take in a litter and take care of them until they are old enough for spay/neuter. We name the kittens, typically all of them will get a name following a similar theme. (The last litter we fostered we named them all after sushi: Maguro, Nigiri, Kampachi, Katsuo, Bincho, Unagi.) After the kittens have been spayed and neutered they will be ready for adoption. When they are ready for adoption we will type up a brief bio for each kitten to help a potential adopter have a better idea what kind of personality they have. The bio goes up online. People interested in adopting are given our phone number and we arrange a meet. If the meeting goes well they go home with their new pal. And probably give them a new name. Ultimately we have the final say on wether it's a good fit if we get a weird feeling from you when we meet, you're out. Our first 2 foster kitties, chewie and pipes, were from a really bad hoarder situation in slayton. They came to us with ringworm and upper respiratory infections. They came with the names piper and jasmine but we thought those names were terrible so we renamed them chewie and pipes because when chewie came to us all ringwormy and gross she would chew on her fur constantly and make this weird sound, it actually kept us up at night, and the other we called pipes because she was like chewies bodyguard. The cats were obviously bonded so we required they be adopted together. We also required that the adopters be willing to invest in humidifiers for their home to help with chewies breathing problems from basically being born with an upper respiratory infection. It took a while to find the right adopter but it was definitely worth it. He has since invited us over to see them and boy do those cats have it made haha. So anyway TLDR: Naming fosters is more about having something to write down for records and identifying them and less about giving them names that fits their personalities it's pretty unlikely they will have these names forever. Sometimes though it happens, I know Maguro goes by Maggie now which is close lol. If it were up to me I would like to wait because I know I'll have better ideas on what their names should be later but in order to schedule a spay they need a name, and when spays are booked a month out it kind of needs to be figured out quickly.
I managed to change my wife's mind about naming one Grimm so it's going to be Mishi, Perrin, and Grimm. Here is a picture of Chewie, Pipes and Poe our first foster win. Here is Bincho who we rarely refer to as Bincho his name transformed from Bincho to Binchito to just cheeto. He can smell cheese a mile away and loves Doritos. The white cat is Nigiri who we just call iggy or icky. It's not letting me format it anymore.
Maybe for the next one. Now that our house guest is leaving we can get back into fostering. He is allergic to cats and was only supposed to be here a couple months. That was back in August. I especially like the name Trini and Zordon lol now that I think of it there is probably a lot of good ones.
I bet there is a lot of kei cars with interesting names. So glad I made this post because this is going to be so useful for the fosters yet to come. Takeo Fujisawa, Soichiro Honda, Kenji Kita. I like japanese things if you didn't guess
Every time I see your avatar or w/e you call it I think it's this guy Kevin I know. He does a really good Macho Man Randy Savage impression. Only when he's really tuned up though.
LOL does he have a dwarven beard? It's a snip of Gimli from this: https://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=612 It's hilarious. Especially if you're a nerd.
