if youve never owned them dont give me a review. -tread -handling -road noise -would you buy again -comparisons
1. Large blocks, great for paved roads, not so for anything else. They wear fairly quickly, though not as quick as some tires I've owned. 2. They are one of the best tires out there for handling on dry pavement, in the wet they are a little scary. They are not as good as the current top Summer only tires, but pretty close. Turn in is fair as the sidewall is a little soft, but overall grip is great. 3. They do make quite a bit of noise compared to a nice AS tire when new, and tehy get much louder as the wear down. 4. Not anymore, there are just too many other tires out there that are better. Falken RT615's, Hankook RS212's, Conti sport 3's (the new ones), and maybe another one or two I am forgetting. 5. I think I kinda covered that already.
I love mine. Great handeling on dry and nothing to complain about on wet. There is some road noise but you will get that with any directional tire. My exhaust covers most of the tire noise though. Yes with out a doubt I would buy these tires again... I have no other summer tire I can compair them to though.. sorry.. hope this helps.
ecsta mx's are very good tires. I have driven cars wth tem before and its one fo the better summer tires yo can buy, better wear than a faster tire, but softer sidewalls. Unfortunately it looks like there are now several tires that beat it out, but a year or two ago it was in the top 5 max grip street summer tires.
The mx is a great tire! Overall it grips, it doesn't do so bad in the rain unless you don't have much treadwear left but what tire does......
I concur with Speedy, for the most part... I don't agree on the handling in the wet comment, though. I would put them up there with any summer specific tire in terms of wet performance.... I currently run them on the STi (put them on Sept 05). I bought them when they were a bit higher up the food chain and there wasn't a lot of feedback on the tire. I don't think I will get them again, but I am not looking for a compromise so I am going back to a bit more harcore... Yoks or RT-615s. Christian
