This is the front passanger side View attachment 3433 rear drivers sid View attachment 3434 Big thanks to Scuba Steve for a great job.
Way better then my stock ones with 87k on them Depends on what time, I used his car at 1230 or so to go grab us some lunch. But yeah that would be why.
DAVE FTW( he helps me out on my car a lot!! thx!!!)!!!! i will have him install my KYB AGX hopefully next week lol ...should be arrive tomorrow ! what springs do u have now?
Thanks for the kudos. Yeah, your car rides very nice with the new set-up...best looking and cleanest 02 I've seen in long time congrats and enjoy!!!
nice dude! we're workin on gettin the rears installed on ihaveawrx's 02' with the same setup... anyone care to help him? he lacks tools and space... his bolts are rusted
The most important tool you need before you consider doing the job is a spring compressor. If you have that depending on where he lives, I could possibly help..
Did new springs today as well. Had two sets of spring compressors but barely had to use them...better safe than sorry though.
uuhh.... i put in ihaveawrxs rear suspension last week. unless i missed something. the prodrives are a shorter spring so you infact do not need a spring compressor. we did all his suspension w/o a compressor. i would say the most important tool to have is a 19mm box end wrench. we broke atleast 6 ratchets 2 1/2" sockets and 2 extensions trying to get the strut bolts out.
PB blaster and a ton of it. Also, on sticky bolts I've used a small torch on the bolt side, not the nut...that's helps free them up if they are really rusted. Breaking them loose should be easy. My personal method-> I use a 1/2 drive 19mm socket on the bolt side with a 19mm wrench holding the nut in place. this will crack the bolt & nut loose. even though Bills rear bolts were torqued beyond belief (from whomever put his prodrive springs on before), they still came off within a minute.
^ the wrench is key. you gotta turn the nut no the bolt. although we were able to get all of the bolts except 1 without a wrench. the wrench is so much nicer (esp. when paired w/ a floor jack, its a lethal combo).
No bolt or nut stands in my way...LOL whatever works...and yes, the wrench and floor jack combo WILL break pretty much anything loose.
Got my KYB AGX's on with my prodrive springs. I set them all on 3 and they are quite stiff. I think i"ll throw them to 4 during the summer, and next winter set them at 1 or 2.
I have all mine at 4 right now. I just wish there was a way to adjust the rear without taking the back seat out.
*3 1/2" sockets. thanks again martian i'll bring back a cuban from mexico for you and i'd have to say that the MVT of the job was the 2" wrench we used as the breaker bar:biggrin: i love that thing
almost i have actually encountered bolts where this didnt work, and jacked the car up using the wrench on the bolt :eek3: and the 2" wrench is FTW!
some pics of it on the ground Bill...... wanna see the ride height.... I have to figure out what I want on mine later this year... need a great spring/strut combo.. need about 2in drop if I can
