Anyone have a gym membership? I'm paying 35$ a month at a new LA fitness, I think I got a good deal, it just opened, it's huge and it's got a pool. Is anyone paying less, and where?
omfg, it's a 45$ activation fee at LA, 35 a month, added on family members don't have to pay for an activation fee, and there's no cancellation fee.
I pay $14 bucks a month for a family Y membership, thanks to our health care. On a side note: If you're poor, YMCAs can help you out with a "scholarship" which basically means a huge discount. like 10$ a month memberships.
yea same i need to start lifting weights...i need to find a work out buddy. edit i am going to call my worthless health insurance tomorrow and find out if get a deal.
It really depends what your needs are. I like Life Time because of pools, spa, cafe, group fitness classes, 100,000 square feet (but yet I'm biased). It is expensive, but for some people, it's more than just a gym. If you want a treadmill and some free weights, it's probably not worth it. If you have kids and want them to go into daycare while you do yoga or get a massage, it's worth it. It's a matter of needs and perspective. The major insurance companies give around $20 off a month, but you have to go 12 times per month to get the discount. Some employers offer an additional amount off also.
I believe if a health club accepts your health insurance...it's only $20 a month @ lifetime and LA...But you have the obligation to show up like 8-12 days a month. If not, your monthly dues are back to normal... I called anytime fitness and I think it's $40 a couple, but a smaller gym with practically no staff.
12 bucks a month @ fitness 19 for me. I was a member at lifetime but it was 64 with insurance. I like lifetime and all but i don't need to have a pool and all the other crap, I work 2 jobs and go to school so I need a place to get the F in and get the F out.
I was talking to MAtt too... I wanna see some skin on my pool table...haha maybe with Jelly Kelly too
haha i pay 15.00 a month zero down at fitness 19 and for every person i sign up i get like 2 bucks off my bill...
It's kind of a motivation for me to pay, since I know I'm putting money out for it I'll take advantage of all I can. Plus I love to swim so it's kind of a plus for me.
^ does that include shoe and harness rental? 15$ lifetime at REI, but you can only go for ten minutes each time. =/
Been goin to lifetime for 5 years. Pay around $50/month. You can generally find me in the steam room wearing only a wash cloth.... And most of the time its on my head.
