People these days truly disgust me, how do hit a women in a parking lot. the police had to tase him to get out of the car, and he was supposedly drunk. http://wcco.com/
Here's an actual link to the story, once it leaves the front page. http://wcco.com/crime/woman.struck.killed.2.884754.html
I know this is slightly off-topic, but can't the frickin news station proof-read their copy. That's embarrassing.
Parking lots are actually pretty dangerous. I've almost been backed over and run down several times walking to/from my car, and ESPECIALLY so at higher-end shops. I would guess most of these encounters did not involve alcohol. People cut through parking spots and tear up and down aisles dangerously fast considering their could be children hidden between cars that may suddenly bolt out from their parents. I make a conscious effort to be hyper-aware of my surroundings in parking lots for these reasons. I hope everyone here does the same and slows it down while in parking lots. Doesn't anyone remember that hit and run outside the Maple Grove community center where that mother was killed and nobody ever came forward? It was like 5 years ago or so. I was working only a couple blocks away when it happened. If I saw someone get hit I'd love to go chasing after the jerk if he fled the scene but our first response should be to the victim. Hopefully I'd at least be able to get a plate # and vehicle description before stopping to assist.
I actually saw this guy getting taken out of the car yesterday! It was at Lyndale and American Ave. There were like 6 cops surrounding this car and I thought someone got rearended and someone was injured. That's crazy!
I remember this...it was an innocent hockey mom I'm with you about the parking lot safety...some people just cut across lanes like it's nobodies business! I was almost run down by a Prius while at UST's campus lot...those things are quieter than hell!
New stations often just type out whatever the anchor said and put it on thier websites. Cannot stand news station websites.
lol. My coworker is more of a troll on kare11's site than I am on here. IMHO, news media defines fail.
Parking lots are extremely dangerious. You can't ever assume anyone sees you when you're a ped and when you're driving someone will jump out in front of you (or worse behind you when you're half out of the spot). They're maddening and even worse during the holidays. Best just to drive and walk like you're invisible. One thing making these worse are the reduced sightlines of many modern cars. SUVs are generally the worst offenders, in a last gen Nissan Murano you cannot see a stroller 4 feet behind you. However, a numbe rof cars are bad, the Dodge Charger is an example.
