http://www.rally-america.com/events/2009/LSPR/ http://www.lsprorally.com/index.html This is the last national RA event of the year held in the UP of Michigan. Ziptie Rally will be leaving early early early thursday morning to get to the practice stage. We are staying at the Ramada in Houghton. Hope to see some of you there! -Carl #171
Sorry but I will not be able to make it. I wish you guys the best of luck and lets keep all 4 on the ROAD and put the peddle to the metal....
Sarah and I will be up there to spectate. We're ending our honeymoon up there. Can't think of a better way to round out a great honeymoon than to go sit out in the middle of the woods to watch cars fly by us while we freeze our butts off!! See you guys up there for the big Mayhem/Ziptie showdown also!!
working with Ziptie rally staying somewhere in houghton. and ready to see if carl honed his skills at the oneil school
I'm gonna do my best to get off work and make it there, we should get some people to car pool or something of the sort
I'll be there driving 000 and ignoring Mark Holden in the right seat, "turn where?" Assuming my vacation doesn't get cancelled by work because of this whole H1N1 thing, I'll be leaving Thursday 5 a.m.'ish (emphasis on the "ish") to be be in Kenton by Noon to help banner. Anyone wants to meet at the McDonalds on 35W at the top of the short of Duluth at 7 a.m. to come help, send me a p.m. Don't ask why, my volunteerism gene is over active, that's all. If my vacation does get cancelled, well.... Hey Erik, how does 000 for a honeymoon present sound? or maybe Mayhem 000? Oh, I'm staying at the Downtowner, clean and inexpensive, plus breakfast at Soumi Cafe Amy
I'm planning on going and already got the days off. Has anybody on here been? What spectator points are worth going to...are some of them on Tarmac? You can carpool with us HeadRush. -STI/SS_carnatic
I have been there along with quite a few others on the forum. I would skip the spectating and volunteer as a marshal and maybe even do a bit of bannering. Marshaling will get you the best seat in the house. Out in the woods with a small group instead of trying to see over or around 100 other people. Or you could work a start or finish control and see all of the cars and drivers close up. Can't beat that, and volunteers are what make rallies happen. Without workers stage rally just wouldn't exist. All of the teams from the pros to the small time guys appreciate every one of you that come and help out.
We caught air like 50+ times that day.....that was one LONG rally:hsugh: The cool people aren't!
Been there, done that!! Haha!! J/K Mark!! That could be fun, but we're probably going to end up just marshalling or else just spectating. We're taking it easy on this one. Mayhem 000 could be cool to see though!
You know, I bet it wouldn't. Actually it looks like Amy and I will be 00, not 000. And if Amy can't make it, then maybe yo'll see the first Nissan Versa as 00
:eek3: oh dear god if 2 dans wasn't enough how about 3! you might as well only hire dans from now on could be your nitch..ziptierally and the dans.
Mayhem needs to run the gray van as a 0 car. I can see Brent powersliding the 15 passenger van full of drunk people past the spectators. LOLZ
Yes but I have actually already done a powerslide in the grey van with 7 folks in it. We could be a roving spectator crew!
didnt you have a rally car on a trailer too when you did that? or was that a different van on the way to the gravel pit?
I was just in Houghton this past weekend, you guys might be driving in the snow in 2 weeks. Also, anyone driving to or from Houghton after dark should take it really easy- way too many deer up there. Have fun, I wish I could go this year...
Snow would be crazy!! We are leaving late night Friday to get up there. Thanks for the heads up on the deer.
LOUD horns would scare the deer away or else they are bound for this:deadhorse: BTW whats up with the Knight rider radar on a rally car?...soon we might see one with under glow neons.
just the team and travis having some fun. they put a general lee dixie horn on the car a couple years ago for travis and christian to blow at the spectator areas.
yea it dont remember seeing the light at Ojibwe But have seen him throw it on for certain random occasions
That was travis's birthday present last year. Yeah I asked him about it. +1 for watching out for deer, especially if you come through Hayward. Several of them jumped out in front of me yesterday, luckily I can see them a long ways ahead with my brights and auxiliary lights on.
