LAX Cruise Weekend Poll - MNSOC Summer Event

We are shooting for July 31st. I wanted to open this up to the boards just to make sure that there were not any issue with that. Please feel free to vote on the poll to decide what weekend we should do this on. I will keep this thread opened for a few days before we put money down on a date. Because time is an issue, and we want to make sure we have the LAX spot reserved, this thread will be open and closed in a short period of time.

may i ask what is the LAX cruise is??

 

This didnt work out last year... why are we polling again?

 

I'll be there if Nemadji Trail rally isn't going on...usually it's one of the last weekends in July

 

Reason it didnt work out last year is it was on a holiday wasnt it?

 

I was asked to start a poll. So like magic, there it is. I hear last year was a holiday or something like that... this is the reason that i was asked to start a poll. So we can be aware of any issues now before we set a date.

 

It's too bad it didn't work out last year, but it is a blast.

 

The good news is that I am all over it this year, so it will be a blast.

 

I'm excited for this! It will be awesome! Wasn't able to go last year.

 

This sounds like a good time. I had a lot of fun heading up to Duluth with the crew - La Crosse, WI would be fun also. Does anyone know whether E85 is available on the route there. I haven't looked yet, but will.

 

Better safe than sorry...you might want to carry some extra gallons in your trunk. Remember in Duluth 93 was not at the expected stations.

 

this looks like a lot of fun, is this an overnight event? if so how many nights.

 

they are 2 in lacross and 2 half way in lake city and one in frontenac + many more
all u ahve to do is google maps set up the route so your going down hwy 61. then in the search bar typ ein E85 click search maps and gas stions will show up along the route

 

july 31st works best for betha nd I, but the other weekends we could possibly work as well.


I dont think that it was a holiday is why last year did not work, I think it was because this poll came out late april (i think) and the date everyone wanted was taken so it got moved to a holiday weekend. the fact that this poll is out early feb gives me good feelings.


I say we do camping/ or motel it again and make a weekend out of it like that last 2 years... whos in for that?

 

I might be able to make it sense it is is in late july, last year it was on a holiday and durring graduation season for me. lol at the cake pic, I forgot I made that, that was a long time ago before I was even a real decorator, maybe I can make another cake this year.

 

the 31st works for me, cuz i have my 2 week guard drill in teh summer july 10th-24th

 

it did work out last year. Everyone that went had a blast. EVEN in the rain!

there was about 10 of us that went.

 

I know that people are planning on camping, that will be outside of the MNSOC event. We'll get a new thread going for camping, non-MNSOC stuff and other over night fun after the date is picked.

I hear ya. Wasn't the problem we couldn't find the station in Duluth. With that said, I should be able to make it to La Crosse on one tank assuming I don't put to much lead in my shoes that morning! : )

 

for next time there is 8staions that have E85 in duluth myfriends runs E85 and lives in duluth

Yeah, there will be a thread or two about the after hours, non-MNSOC stuff. There should be a lot of options for camping or spending the night. Those are just going to be different threads since it isn't MNSOC. Once this date is locked in we will get all of that going.

Wasn't running E then. My buddy wanted to fill up with 93 which his GPS wasn't finding for him. Good to know though...

 

I am going to stick this thread because it's important. Once a date is set I'll take it off of there and replace it with the LAX cruise thread.

I will have you know that I did vote and I love the LAX cruise. It's part of why I like being here. Some of the prettiest sections of MN are visited, if you haven't done this, I highly suggest you do. It's a great experience (when it's not raining hehe)

 

Yeah I am really excited to make the run this year. I hope the weather works with us. We'll give this page a few more days before we lock down the date.

 

Any of these days sound good. Thanks for getting this up early this year so there are no conflicts with Father's Day. I'm pretty excited to make my first cruise! The vids I watched of the '08 cruise are amazing.
