I want to create a new look for my cars interior. I've always hated the look of the sti blue. I want to reupholster some seats with a new and rare color to get some attention at shows. I'm not talking about multi color racing seats, but something more subtle and relaxing. I'm sure this wont appeal to a lot of you, which is fine, but I'm thinking more about colors such as a deep red, volvo s60r atacama natural, or even a black or grey for the front and rear seats. I just want to lose the famous blue interior. I would also like to change to color of the carpet to black and the door inserts to match the color of the seats...or maybe black would be fine too. I posted some of the colors I like. Pay no attention to the seat styles, I'm just showing color here. I'm open to opinions, but lets be real please, for this is a serious thread and not a bunch of bs. I also want to know what fits besides the obvious 06-07 limited leather.
leather would be cool. but it is heavy and slippery, which are not good qualities for what i use the car for. IMO no. but thats just me, and i dont go to car shows.
I have never been to a car show either, but I've always wanted to. I dont care so much about the extra weight. I just want something different that would make the car stand out and this would do it, plus heated seats in the winter wouldn't be so bad! I can still get a racing style leather seats (recaro sports) and with a harness, they wont be slippery. I just want them in the darker red bottom pic.
I know its a little over done in the market, but suede maybe? What is the exterior color? <<<Hates leather. Sorry.:dunno:
It's all good bud, for each their own. I value all opinions. The STi already has suede interior, so I'm trying to aim away from that. Exterior color is urban grey metallic.
the suede / alcantra interior is awesome. my V4 STi seats have some of that stuff on the seat back and it helps you stick in the seat.
I say if you go with the leather, at least make sure it's not the cheap looking stuff. A real nice soft leather would look alright imo. With that color exterior, you can really go with any color you want. I actually like both of those colors you posted.
Yea, I've seen the cheap stuff and it looks pretty ghey! I don't want that at all. I want it to look good. Anyone know any good leather/upholstery shops in the area I can inquire with?
