Hey i dont know how many of you guys are into the older BC Legacys but thought i would share what ive done. I replaced my ailing VF11 turbo with a TD04 and threw in a top mount aswell. Pics Thanks to Noah, Mike, Justin, and Brian for helping me out with parts. Lots of small issues that came up, mainly with the intake pipes. Relocating the coolant tank was a pain trying to keep from breaking weak nipples. Shes running much better than when i got it. Next project is fixing the driveline to handle anymore power before i break something on account of bearing play.
ive already coffee muged it once but the JB welds failed so i need to make a MK.II I think im just going to have a pipe bent and replace the resonator and that elbow on the turbo inlet side to bring it down more. right now its about |-----| that far from my hood
looks sweet, nice job. I still would love to get a SS for a daily, but I know i would mod it. keep up the good work. How are you controlling fuel and timing? Ben
at this point its all stock, running stock boost levels through my leggy bypass and controller. Im looking at getting an electronic boost controller soon to better control the TD04 with the stock ECU. As for the fuel/timing im researching my options and saving money as it isnt going to be cheap. I just picked up a set of the leggy N/A fuel rails which can handle the newer STI injectors. I just need to figure out how to control them. If anyone has any suggestions for cheap control it would be appreciated. FYI this all is my first experience with moving beyond stock managment so im being very cautious about trying to push much more power yet. Trying to learn as much as i can without breaking too many things.
Good to see another SS. If you haven't already, check out bbs.legacycentral.org . My '93 L is gettin quite a bit of love. She's gonna be a frankenstein. Built '91 EJ22T, '05 STi 6MT, and so on. As far as EM, look into the ECU piggyback called Perfect Power sold by Rallitek. A couple guys from the BBS are running it with some success. I'm gonna go with the Link Plus G2, but I'm building a pretty agressive setup. Also, consider a wideband from Zeitronix. http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm For $279, you can't go wrong. Also, a guy over there is building a piggyback specifically for the SS, called the LegaCU, but it won't be ready for quite some time.
