Legacy Parts

I am wondering what parts are interchangeable between imprezas and my 2.5 DOHC legacy GT.. I would assume many suspension parts would work but also
most engine parts. I heard it was hard to find many performance shocks for this vehicle as well so I hope that I could use impreza shocks. Anyway is there many websites out there reguarding this car specifically? They are kind of hard to find.

 

as far as the engine, anything from a 98 rs will fit. as for the suspension, you can go ebay for kyb struts. as for springs buy new or used. impreza struts WILL work but you need legacy springs and top hats. as for websites, a good one i go on alot is nasioc.com under the legacy column near the bottom. another web site is sl-i.net/FORUM and last but not least is legacygt.com

so to speak, you can buy KYB AGX struts made for the Impreza and use them on yoru Legacy. SPRINGS you'd have to buy ones made FOR the Legacy.
Seems some of the Legacy guys overseas are using Impreza STRUTS and SPRINGS, but are using the Legacy TOP HATs or say, TOP MOUNTS from the factory struts.

why would legacy springs have to be used?

 

my coilovers and tophats are for GC/GM imprezas. 2004 STi suspension will even go in without much trouble.



The springs don't matter, its the tophats that may or may not work. This has been covered to death over on bbs.legacycentral.org.

I figured that'd be the case, since the offroad guys like to use outback stuff on imprezas to lift 'em....
