Well I suppose, since everybody else is making a "look what I'm building" thread, I'll make one.

Well my intention is to get back into rally and build a competitive open class car for the Rally America National series. My goal is to have it all compleated to run 100 Acre Rally in Febuary in Missouri. So here it is.

    1999 Impreza Sedan
    Light weight seam welded shell
Custom Cages Group N Multi point Roll Cage
    2.5L STi EJ257
    KOYO Aluminum Radiator
    Slimline Radiator Fans
    Light weight Custom Wire harness
    6-speed gearbox w/ DCCD
    R180 Rear Differantal
RS&SP 55-51 Suspension with hydro bump stop
    STi Group N strut tops
Group N 4pot/2pot brakes with ferrodo DS3000 pads
    STi aluminum Control arms
    STi RA roof scop
    Sparco Circuit Pro (my seat)
    Sparco Evo L (co-driver's seat)
    Sparco 6pt. Harness
    Terratrip 303+ rally computer
    Peltor Intercom
    Hydro Hand Brake
    Wilwood brake bias valve
    PIAA twin Light pods
    PIAA racing 80's driving lights
and thats what I have so far.

    and now to the pics...

Then there are the snags of doing a project like this....
My Roll cage is comming from Daventry, England... and thats already a week late  It was going to be installed this weekend.
Then I bought my RS&SP suspension used, it only made it a half a rally. So I got a deacent price on it from Rallispec. Then I had them install new STi GN strut tops... Well I got them today. Everything looked good, except for 3 outta 4 strut tops are new, and the last one was used and bent!!   But I called Rallispec back up and they are sending me a brand new top.
Oh well hopefully I won't run into many more problems.

    TO BE CONTINUED.....

Just outta curiosity, why order a cage? can't you just build one, or does that go outside guidelines for open class?

Faster, easier, and new cages have to be built to FIA specs anyhow. Yeah, it probably still would be cheaper to fab one up, but the time and effort are significant. FIA cages for Subarus are well developed and the cage Mike's got coming will probably fit the shell like a glove.

I was supose to install the cage this weekend, but thats still stuck in Customs. Oh well there is plenty of work to be done, and I hope to have it all rally ready in 2 weeks!

Well I got the cage in and both seat mounts made and in. I got the steering coloum mounted to the new cage cross bar. every hole inside the car has been pluged with metal plates. I have already modified the dash and heater box to fit around the cage. So later this week I should have the interior painted and get the car log booked.

Well thats about it so far. Next will be install suspension, alum. control arms, install new ball joints, and all new wheel bearings. Then the head gaskets :(

More pictures added on first post

Maybe with the car? Mike already built it, raced it once, and sold it. I think the new owner may have crunched it up at Ojibwe, but I'm not sure about that.

I just checked. They rolled the car at Ojibwe, and showed up at Rally Colorado in what appears to be "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram's old PGT WRX. I don't know if that was rented from SISU racing for Colorado while they fixed the other car, or what.
