Learned my first lesson with the Subaru. The SUMMER tires that were on it SUCK in the winter. I didn't pay attention to what tires were on it until after I found the ditch at the end of my road a couple weeks back. I walked back home, woke my wife up and told her i'm ordering new new wheels and tires right after you pull me out of the ditch! Installed them on wed. Stock wheels and tires Konig Deception 17x7.5 with Continential Extreme Contact DWS 225/45's Spruced up my DD nicely and now I won't slide into the F*CKIN ditch when it snows this weekend. Anyone have a good reputable tint installer?
It cracked the front bumper mounts, road rashed the bottom of the bumper, chipped paint on the front lip of the passenger fender and broke the passenger head light bucket. Its not noticeable unless your looking for it. I came up to the T at the end of my road and tried to take a left turn doing ~5-7mph. I slid across the road and into the snow bank on the edge of the ditch. It was in slooooowww motion and there wasn't anything i could do. Breaks didn't work, couldn't turn at all, just slowly slid across and found the ditch. Needless to say I was more then pissed about it. Its been turned into insurance and will be getting fixed.
same thing happened in my Landcruiser on a normal corner near my house.. travel the same spot everyday and that morning I went a little wide and got onto the off camber and when a 3tonne truck starts to slide.. just ride it out... what hurt my ego worse was my wife not being able to get into the plow truck cause the doors were frozen shut, she she turns up in the Dodge Grand Caravan and pulls me out... hahaha (admittedly I was high sided on a 2.5ft bank)
