Let's start this again...Lug Nuts Spline Drive Groupbuy

Alrighty folks, I just got a call from my vendor and he said that they are in (About dam time) and ready to be shipped to me. My original order was 12 sets. 1 Chrome and 11 Black Closed ended ones. $35 shipped to me for pickup only...If we can hit 20 sets I will knock off another $2, so $33 total.
What do you guys think, should I start the list?

This set is a Muteki brand with 20 spline nuts and Key retails for about $45-$50...

 

12x1.25 fits all Subarus

Here is a pic of what it looks like...this one is chrome, but it will be black. These are 20 piece set plus Key, not the 16pcs.

Stock or aftermarket will fit...12x1.25. It gets a bit hard when I have too much option. For now it is the Close ended ones in black...They are the popular selection...

Alright I want a set as long as your sure they are what I need for my BBS and aftermarket i.e. Rotas. Yes I read earlier posts just double checking.

 

I got them on my rotas and they fit just fine...Triple assurance...:biggrin:

My rims came with lugs and the socket, just not the right thread pitch so i have the socket. $33 for all the lugz and the socket is pretty good.

I'm in. I don't want my rims easily ganked.

 

Stock wheel seats are different than most aftermarket wheels.....stock Subaru wheels use a radius nut and most aftermarket wheels (including Rotas) are conical.... Apparently that is not public knowledge. :roll:

so are there problems to be had by using a conical lug nut on a radius type wheel?

 

They absolutely exert a different stress on the seat, but I do not know what the effects are going to be.... I think Tire Rack has a tech note on lug nuts, if I remember correctly. There may not be an issue, but they are different for a reason and I will keep using the correct ones. I have had to use a couple radius nuts on my wheels when I was in a bind and I could definitely feel that they seated differently. I didn't torque to the full 80ft-lbs to be safe.

 

I haven't had any issue with the lug nuts...Also as a note they are tapered so they will fit with any chamfored...Subaru wheels will fit these...

 

so whats the verdict? safe on stockers or aftermarket only?
