I have been watching Carsoup, Craigslist, Vehix, StarTribune and Autotrader for a decent low-priced 35+ mpg car. I have only found one that fits my budget (the rest cost as much/more than my legacy), I would be keeping the Legacy, but this would be what I would drive for when I do some work on it, that might need to be outta order for a while. I'm looking for something preferably manual, that is reliable and has heat, A/C would be nice, but not necessary. Umm... not a rust bucket. I have located an ok looking candidate, an older diesel manual Jetta, but that might go quickly. Please attach links here, or if you own something that fits these criteria post it, Thank You.
Left Hand of the Devil. I don't think you need to ASK for a car if the Bambino is backing you up, just find one you like and TAKE it! Which fills me with relief that I don't have anything you might be interested in while simultaneously filling me with fear that I am actually posting in your thread unhelpfully. Um, good luck, eh! /gets the hell outta the thread as fast as he can
haha, you're the first one to recognize the pic! ftw. I'm watching the movies atm, playing in the background of my computer. They Call Me Trinity, Trinity is Still My Name. Hilarious Italian westerns. I have been searching for quite some time, didn't want to make a thread for this, but I thought there might be a chance someone here might have something they don't want anymore. A CRX would do also... Oh well, 'spose that it would already be in use anyhow, due to the gas price increases.
let the markups begin... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989...UST-NO-AC_W0QQitemZ270233739457QQcmdZViewItem
:ugh: *groan* I've been searching for a while now and no price gouging that bad in the 200 mile radius from 55347, but just far and few between that are under $7,000, that are actually in moderate/good condition - dependable/has heat/not a rust bucket. I'm not giving up my only source I have found, hehe, going to try and test drive it later on Friday evening.
andy seriously change your avatar...it turns me on..then i realize its you behind that avatar...and then thats gross...lol gold luck with your search!
its okay i supposeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....just leavin work finally..yes...im hungry whats to eat at 130amssss??
where ya driving from? If near Shakopee, Taco Loco is awesome, and last I knew they were open way late.
I don't mind this one, 2000 Jetta Diesel, but I was looking for something a bit cheaper... Oh well:ugh: On this note, anyone got hook-ups to a silver rear bumper? heh, this one might be the "one"...
"The Gentleman Who Fell Before the Cause" Another somewhat obscure reference. Sorry to be even more not-helpful. Oh, and there are at least 2 more Trinity movies. Our library has one of them; I can get the title next time I am there. And another which takes place in the modern '70's, as I recall. Anyway...
I am going to have to say an EA81 Subaru. It is pretty dang reliable (no timing belt helps), and cheap since they are pushing 20 years old. The hardest part is finding one that isnt a heap of rust. If you can manage that you are looking at 4wd/fwd, the glories of 30+ mpgs that isnt diesel, and priced under $1k.
I'd say go for a Mk 3 or 4 TDI (Turbo Diesel) jetta or golf. They're hard to come by, but you should be able to find one if you looked hard enough. What's your Price Range? Here's a good one for $7500. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/car/663807485.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/car/645573821.html http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/car/643428948.html That or I'd say a decent honda like Newer Integras or Civic Si. Nothing ricy, but damn reliable, somewhat quick, and good MPG. Hell, you should be able to find the Acura RSX. 1ZZ-FE powered toyotas (corolla, matrix, celica) tend to get a real world 30-32mpg and cheap and relaible.
yeah, toyotas a good little cars too. If gas keeps increasing, I be looking to get rid of the cobra and something like what's posted here.
