Ok, I didn't post this as a WTB because I just want to know if anybody knows where to get some good ones that fit right and look cool. It would be cool to have a tuner of some sorts logo on them. Long story short, I ordered some from cobb, they barely fit, I have to squeeze them in the frame, and the frame almost totally cuts off the tabs on the bottom so you can't see them. (I'm not trying to get pulled over!) I went to auto zone, all the had was total crap. I talked to crawford and they have one that look like they might work, but I don't want to waste more money on one that won't work. I was at the b'ville subaru today and they had the nice black metal STI ones, but for 33 bucks apiece!!! Please advise me guys and gals! Thanks!
Yeah, the metal subaru ones are nice... and they fit without obstructing the plate number or tabs. I have a black wrx plate frame I'd sell for cheap, a chipped up spt one that is on the Porsche (lol) that I'd also sell, and a plastic perrin one you can have (it might have the same problem as the cobb... I dunno, I never tried it).
Personally I'm not a fan of plate frames. This is one of the few I like and use. http://www.oksubaru.com/gallery/v/Car+Work/93LegacySS/Gearbox/DSC_8861.JPG.html Usually they are available at www.driverightpassleft.com but it appears their website is down.
I had Morries take my Bloomington Subaru ones off and put Morries ones on instead. Made it look much better
Wow, I don't remember those frames being so expensive when I bought them. I have the metal Subaru frames (old school etched writing) and the fit is perfect with everything visible.
So I just called Perrin and asked if they had any frames in stock, she said sure and they are sending them for free!!!!! Not even a shipping charge!! I will definetly buy stuff from them in the future!
