Nearly new General Altimax Arctic Winter tires in 205/50R17. These tires were on my second car and used part-time last winter. They have 2,500 miles on them, tops.

These would cost you $490 to have shipped brand new from Tire Rack. I'll let them go for $250. Get 90% of the life of the tires for about 1/2 the original cost. I won't have a car to use them on anymore, and I have way too many wheels and tires in storage as it is.

Pictures in the morning once the car they're holding up is hauled away. Tires can be dismounted from the wheels as soon as this weekend.

Do you know how much tread is left in 32nds? Also, where are you located?

Interested in your tires. I'm not all familiar with the numbers but the tires on a set of my rims are 225/45R17. From what I understand the tire is a smaller profile and the has a higher tread rating. Is this correct?

Partly. Tire numbers break down like this:

    225/45R17:
225 - Nominal width of the tire in mm (note, actual width may or may not be precisely 225mm)
    45 - Aspect Ratio, or a ratio of the height of the sidewall (So 225 * .45 = 56.25mm)
    R - Radial Construction
17 - Wheel diameter in inches

You'll also find on various tires the load range (weight carrying capacity), which generally only is a concern with larger vehicles.
And there may also be a treadwear rating. Winter tires often don't carry a treadwear rating.

To determine if a particular size tire will work for you, you can compare the numbers, I use: https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=225-45r17-205-50r17
In this case, going to a 205/50R17 is an extremely close fit diameter-wise, at 0.4%
The width difference is much more significant at 8.9%. Narrower can be better for winter, but it's up to you to decided how much narrower is acceptable (I typically go down 10mm from stock, but that's arbitrary). General specs a wheel width of 5.5"-7.5" for this specific tire.

    Very good explanation Mark :)

@MNRex07 These would fit your STI perfectly fine. As Mark said, a narrower tire is preferred for the winter, and these still have plenty of load capacity for your STI.

Well, I'm going to have them dismounted tomorrow. I have one person who has said they will pick them up on Sunday, and another who is also interested if that falls through.

Normally I won't hold stuff, but I never really said that this time, and it's a little different on here where I know and have dealt with people before, compared to say craigslist.

So, sale pending, will update if it doesn't go through.

I'll buy today $250 + case beer (your choice) if you want to get rid of it asap. Need tires to mount on my 2016 wrx when it arrives in december.
