What do you think a 00 2.5rs 4.11 limited slip rear end with 85k miles is worth? comes with axels and everything. I'd love one for winter, but not sure if 375+ shipping is a good price. Anyone know what these generally go for price wise?
figure new axles at napa are 60 each after cores. i dont know what else is included in everything ie brakes rotors wheels ect.....
I paid $130 for my 3.70 late '80s RX LSD with high-mileage and picked up at the iowa meet... I thought that was a pretty good deal... that's all I can offer, I don't know how common RS LSD's are (though I bet they're more common than RX LSD's), or how many miles it has on it, or even how interchangeable the new ones are, but I bet you'll like it once you have it!
only the 00 and 01 RS's had LSD. Since then they stopped putting them in the RS but the wrx's have them stock, just different final drive. Although the auto WRX has the same final drive as my manual 2.5rs. I only see them for sale every once in awhile, just not sure if one with over 80k is worth near 400 bucks. I found this site with a chart of which rearend the imprezas have. http://wac.addr.com/auto/obs/lsd/lsd.html
I'm not too sure about Subaru rear ends, but on DSMs a 4-bolt will go for $225-$400 depending who you're asking. And mileage doesn't mean jack for them, since the 4 bolts usually don't just bust like the 3 bolts.
hummm..... the ones at U Pull cost ALMOST $30 for the rear end. LOL Just remember, the LSD is a VISCOUS unit. It's good enough for the average driver who drives on city streets with snow and gravel roads. The only time you'll actually have it working is if you really break the tires loose on the surface, that is....loose surface. On dry pavement it's not bad, I can actually feel it work a TINY BIT on throttle (but of course it'll never feel like my welded diff). I'd get a Phantom Grip if I was to replace my rear one. I'd get another 4.111 and put the Phantom Grip in that (or simply put new pinion bearings in my spare 4.111). I put a '00 driveline in place of my stock L's driveline. My '99 Impreza L axles fit the 2.5RS rear diff. I didn't need 2.5RS axles. If you wanted a good LSD, I'd suggest saving for the CUSCO RS clutch type LSD. Trust me if you wanted a LSD, you need to go with the GOOD STUFF. I've tested the stock viscous LSD and if you were to get up on the curb and have one front wheel and one rear wheel off the ground, that viscous isn't going to help much. The viscous unit isn't strong enough to hold one side from over-spinning. BUT I tell you, having one is better than none. The viscous LSD is pretty fun in the snow once you get the tires to slip. I still miss the times with my welded diff. Rallitek has the Cusco LSD for just a little over $1000, rallispec has it for $1400 WHOA!!
if you can find one! I've looked, they're almost none existant...(at upull)..I finally gave up and paid the big bucks.
That's one in rosemount county 42 I think it is. Fuji how about the Kaaz LSD, I heard they are similar limited slip with cusco, just a little bit cheaper though i think. That's I'm going to get. PERHAPS
