Last week, someone backed into my (new to me) Legacy GT with DGM paint. The part she hit was the driver's side rear door, wheel well, and the panels in between. It is a significant scrape, but no real dents (fortunately). Now, I am seeking quality repair in the Twin Cities for the otherwise mint vehicle. The color is Diamond Grey Metallic, and the Morrie's Minnetonka body shop estimate was around $850. Do any of you have recommendations repairing this type of paint? I want to get this as close to how it used to be as possible, and want the work to last (no fading paint, etc...). Forum searches were light on this from what I could find... Thanks! DT
Also, can most any shop handle DGM paint these days? I understand it is tricky to blend properly, and can be noticeable if improperly done.
Another good shop is Hamline Auto Body. Took my car there to get a fender and bumper fixed and painted. My color is a tough one to match as well. Not sure on their prices since insurance covered it, but their work was top-notch.
Hamline is great for price out of pocket... had my mirror fixed there this summer. They do good work and quick. I've recommended many people go there, all have had good experiences.
anyone know any spendy places? im looking to get high estimates to send in and then get it done cheaper to clear my deductable any suggestions?
For expensive, there's a place in Uptown on Lyndale and 28th called Hagens?, I think. I priced out an estimate there once and it was pretty high.
