So i just got my V.2 TD05H-16g in the mail today. Looking around online it looks like a rebuild kit would be about $80-$100. I was wondering if anyone knew of a local shop that would do a quality job rebuilding it so i wouldnt have to wait forever for deadbolt to do it.

Also i may want to do some ceramic coating on it too, what do you guys think?

I also have a question of coatings on turbos. has anyone ever chryotreated any part of their turbo. if so, is that a common thing?

I think DB performance or RS motors would be able to rebuild your turbo, I know from when I was down there (at rs motors) they have a million perfectly good turbos just laying around their shop.

not sure of db's website, but rsmotors is http://rs-motors.net/ and they are located in burnseville.

    Well

    I had Dave down at:

    Carburetion & Turbo System
    1897 Eagle Creek Road
    Shakopee, MN. 55379
    952-445-3910

Rebuild my turbo on the XT and he did a great job. Kinda hard to get a hold of at times and you can't rush him but he is a very nice guy. He is the only one that does turbo's down there and he is on the road alot too.

    There is my 2cents worth

I just got my turbo BACK from Deadbolt Enterprise. It looks like NEW; besides my old coolant fittings, lol. I went with them because they've dealt with lots of turbos. I bought a rebuild kit off ebay and sent them the turbo with it. SO I was only paying labor and shipping; thing is they can't guarrantee the turbo because they don't know if it's Mitsubishi rebuilding parts that I bought. BUT I am very happy with their work. We'll see how the turbo performs. Must break it in with regular oil.

Here are a few pics. Yes, it's just a TD04 but it's like NEW now! Will last me probably another 100k miles!! *cross fingers*

tell us your experience! I know I didn't get a reply from them as it was within a week of ThanksGiving. But they got back to me about it and I was expecting the turbo in LATE Nov, which it got here today on the 1st of Dec.

    So tell us!

Theres a garret turbo certified shop in burnsville that typically work on big diesel stuff. It's called "Diesel Components" I think. Rebuild the turbo yourself and have them balance it for like $15! (assuming its not a ball bearing unit)

well, i sent the turbo in to get porting and rebuilding, took a long time to get it done, and when i got it i did everything i was told to before starting the car, priming and everything. started car and the turbo was screwed making horrible sounds. so pulled it back of and the turbo had huge amounts of play in it. so i sent it back and they were trying to say it was my fault and just being very rude to me, finally got it back after having the owner give me a sob story about his personal life because he was sick blah, blah, blah. basically the owner was very unprofessional about everything and pretty rude to me.
