I want to get a little better at using my camera/photography in general. So I figured the next best step after getting driveway pictures, was to find a nice location for a beautiful landscape shot.

I would love to do something like this,

but the only place that I can think of, is the Luce Line, and that isn't accessible with my car.

    Any suggestions?

You'd be surprised, but the background doesn't make as much of a difference as you think.

I typically aim for industrial/warehouse areas, which I don't know too much about near Plymouth. I've used a lot of random alleys when doing shoots with models/motorcycles. As long as you find a spot where you can get the lighting that you want, it's not as hard to put the focus on your subject and not so much the background.

    Just a thought :)

I'd say by some of the buildings off of 169 close to 394, on the eastern side maybe. They look like some good areas. (Overgrown foliage, old rusted looking buildings)

There are some really pretty areas around West Medicine Lake Park off 55 or Linner Road/Meeting Street off Carlson Pkwy south of 394.

Google maps is being lame, but search this for another good spot - its along Long Lake road. Nearest address is
    455 E Long Lake Rd
    Orono, MN 55356
