    To big. You don't put 18's on a Subaru for anything other than show imo.

    rota's are so overdone IMO, do something difgferent than everyone else, and no 18's are not too big... check my avatar 18's with 45 series... they fill out very nice

    couldn't agree more....

    back in the day when I bought my wrx I thought 18's would be the best choice...boy was I mistaken. Although they handle pretty okay, a good 17" wheel will out perform a 18" wheel anyday.

    looks = 18
    performance = 17

    How did you get 45 aspect tires on an 18 under your car? Are they stretched on there or something?

    17x8 is plenty for me...Fill up the fender flares a bit more and will out perform 18's :).

    Your speedometer is off then as your circumference will be over 3 inches larger than stock.

    As far as i can tell... whenever i pass a speed trap with radar that shows your speed, i always check it to see and always have been right on target:ugh:

    Theres nothing wrong with 18's, but it all depends on what your doing with the car..

    No, I really don't plan on going to the track but I look at it this way. Yes with 18's you will run a lower profile tire that will in theory improve cornering and things. You also will be replacing tires more often. It just really isn't worth spending the extra cash on 18's when in my opinion 17's will perform better all around.

    That's neat, but the math and the laws of physics say otherwise. If the speedo on your car is calibrated for a tire with a contact circumference of 78.2", which it is, then running a 225/45R-18 will give you a rolling circumference of 81.6." Therefore every revolution of your tire you are going 3.4" further than stock. Meaning at 60mph on your speedo, you would actually be travelling 62.6mph due to a 4.4% error in circumference.

    The closest correct sizing for your wheels would be 225/40R-18. This puts you only .8% off of stock, which equates to about a 0.5 mph error.

    Seriously though, any thoughts or opinions on the rims themselves? Any suggestions other than 18's? The size and width are set, does anyone have an opinion otherwise?

    I've yet to see hyper black in person. I was debating between hyper black, gun metallic, and flat black for my wheels.

    I chose gun metallic (mainly from browsing on Nasioc) but also because I felt flat black would be too...black, ya know? I think hyper black would be a little flashy for my taste...so I went in the middle.

    These are the main pictures I used to help decide:

    i have 245 40 18 tires on my 17lb 18" enkie rims. it takes quite a bit of force to knock'em loose. no tire roll whatsoever. really predictable. i've owned a few different sets of 17's, this is by far my favorite setup.

    Almost all wheels that aren't super expensive are replicas of wheels that are. Rotas ftw. :)

    and...dark wheels on white car (or any car) look sick ;)

    Why would you put 19's on an Impreza? It is an AWD sports car, not a 1970's Caddy.

    cause they go round.. why not...

    why by a rally inspired car if you dont get off road???

    why change what the factory spent millions designing if you dont plan to race it...

    why why why??

    why ask peoples opinions if you dont want to hear them??

    why why why?

    why put the same rims that EVERY OTHER impreza is running.... oh thats right to follow the crowd... :)
