looking for 4.11 or 4.44 4eat tranny (maybe)

    i have a 92 svx with a pretty lame gear ratio... 3.54somethin... being as troublesome they are, i figure i may as well go with a ratio that'd be a little bit more fun once it blows... i would need a 4eat transmission with a matching rear diff... i am not too particular on 4.11 or 4.44 but they'd need to be in good working order... let me know if anybody has anything!

    You would need a 4EAT from a turbo car, early Legacy or WRX, to hold up behind that motor in that heavy of a car.


    I ASSume you have heard of the MT conversions. If you use a WRX trans you can keep you current 3.90 rear diff but because of the 1.1:1 drop gear set it works like a 4:11.

    If I had an SVX, I'd be all over an MT conversion with a 4.11

    if i had money or a shop i'd do a 5spd... of course... but the most for the money seems to be 4.11s or 4.44.. i've also been told that a 96-98 outback tranny'll do... unfortunately i wouldnt be able to come up with money till may-ish...
