Hey, I'm now looking for a 2002-present impreza that is in good condition and is for about $12,000 and somewhere around 100,000 miles but willing to go over on miles as long as the car runs well and doesn't have any problems and must be an automatic transmission
Less than 90k may be tough to find. I rarely drive my car, and for the last 3 years I've put maybe 3000 miles per year on it, and I'm still over 80k.
yeah I've had a hard time just searching online for one and I plan to drive it a little less then that
I don't think you can drive it less than I do. I drive it once every 2-3 weeks on the weekend. And usually it is to go 60 miles round trip to MPLS for dinner or something stupid like that. Then it goes back in the garage. And sometimes, just for the hell of it, I run to get cigarettes and a cup of coffee at the gas station a mile up the road. This year, you can knock off a solid 1000 miles from my usual yearly driving because there wasn't an ice-race. I got an oil change at Morrie's MTKA last winter (2010) in January, just for the sake of doing so. It has been 17 months since then, and I still haven't hit the mileage on the sticker. So, in 17 months, I haven't driven 3000 miles. I'm still a couple hundred away. Not only that, but at around November, it goes in to the garage and gets shut off for the winter.
I'd say keep an eye on craigslist, ebay and autotrader. And watch Morrie's MTKA's used car lot. And the for sale forums on here. Things pop up here and there. I honestly don't know of any for sale at the moment, but I haven't really been looking.
Also auto is going to a little more difficult to find then a manual and is there a reason u want the auto???
don't know and can't drive manual, and I really want the power the wrx offers that the normal impreza doesn't
I gots the auto 03 WRX...with a 2800 level ten stall converter + a couple of stage 2 goodies...not for sale, but absolutely fabulous car. Keep the dream alive. They are out their but rare. We bought ours in July 2003...took me months to get one.
There aren't really any "illegal" mods you can do outside of cat removal or too dark of tint, and you're not gonna get checked for cats in MN!
silver03: that sounds like one really sweet car JasonoJordan: I'd just like to stick to an auto project/ driven: oh ok good to know
I'm willing to move on the price and mileage a little but the price more I would like to find a car with less then 100,000 miles or still runs very well after that
hey I've changed some of the limits I have for what I'm looking for. I'm now looking for a 2002-present impreza that is in good condition and is for about $12,000 and somewhere around 100,000 miles but willing to go over on miles as long as the car runs well and doesn't have any problems and must be an automatic transmission
I'm looking for a car though not an SUV, plus...subaru I need to have this car in Minnesota not in Iowa
Ok, dude. You can get anywhere in Iowa in under 6 hours from the Twin Cities. The Forester XT, at least before the recent body facelift, was essentially a lifted WRX sedan. It's more utilitarian, has more space to haul things when you need to. Not sure about what years it applies to, but I do know that WRX suspension components bolted right up, as I sold my WRX struts and springs to Fong and he bolted them right up to his Forester XT. Lowered the car like 4 inches, pretty much slammed it. It looked bitchin'. And if you aren't willing to drive a little bit, you will probably NEVER get the car you are looking for. I bet Mr. Iowa would have been more than happy to drive to say, Albert Lea, MN to drop it off to you. Or is that too far?
I'm willing to drive I just didn't ask for a forester xt I asked for a impreza I've found some at used car dealers but I'm just trying to see if I can find something that is more of exactly what I want or can pay to make it exactly right
forester xt's are awesome. my dad has one, it feels like you're driving an impreza but you can fit more **** in it. same power, same gas mileage, lower insurance
Also is the picture you posted what yours really looks like since the steering wheel is on the right side and has license plates from Europe?
It was an example of what you can do with a Forester XT. The XT will likely get about the same gas mileage as the WRX since it is the same engine and running gear for the most part. Maybe 1mpg less on average due to the weight being slightly higher. But the differences will be unnoticeable. Ground clearance will be higher than an impreza by a couple inches.
here is the craigs list i would sell it to you for 12 tho http://masoncity.craigslist.org/cto/2356763459.html
This is tempting to me even! If it was a different color, I'd be going to my bank right now trying to finagle how I could afford it. Lower insurance, more room for storage, and I've seen some very nice looking XT's modded just right (TonyM/02Blubru had a red one that was lowered. I think IzzySTi has it now.). Ground clearance would've been nice this past winter, too.
It looks and sounds like a great vehicle but I unfortunately just had pay in advance for some expenses and can only spend $9,000, sorry
ok sounds like a great car just post or send some pictures for me to see it since I'm out of state right now
I was thinking of selling mine if I found the right LGT. I have an 04 WRX Silver 130k very well cared for miles, no leaks, royal purple/k&n oil changes, Auto trans, bought it from a guy who was the first owner in Virginia so no rust, has a transferable powertrain warranty up to 160k, new trans with less than 7k...erm yeah I wouldn't take less than $12 so let me know. That'd only be if I can find either a LGT or possibly a FXT...anyway thought I'd throw that out there. This is the first automatic I've ever owned and I actually miss shifting which is the reason I was tinking of swapping, no mechanical issues.
I have a 2002 wrx 5spd, looking for 7300obo. has 112k engine has a little over 30k (have the paperwork) on it. Runs and drives good if your interested any further send me a PM.
