Looking for a cheap tire swap.

    Hello gents,

    I'm currently looking at a 2005 Legacy Gt, and will probably buy it in January.

    I have an 04 325xi I'm selling, and need some other tires I have put on it.

    It's over $100 to get the old tires taken off, and new tires mounted and balanced. I spend a fair amount of driving on the highway, and will be touring to Ohio and back for the holidays.

    Does anyone know where to get these done really cheap? I assume balancing is a must.

    Any help is appreciated!

    sam's club. I've done 2 sets this fall, both walk-ins. I've heard that some locations won't mount tires unless you buy them there, but I've had no such experiences here in Duluth. 9.50 each, mounted and balanced. +1.50 each for disposal.

    dude go to like a discount tire. last time i went it was 7 bucks a corner for mount and balance.

    I started a thread in the mod section about getting tires mounted and balanced. IIRD discount tires was up around $180 to do 4 225/45/17. If you know someone that will do it for $7 per corner, post it up now. Cheapest I found was around $125 for 4. I am still looking.

    ^$180 to mount and balance tires??????????????????????????

    Last time I had a set of 4 done on my 17s was $45.

    yeah...this is true...we only mount tires that were bought at sams..but i still do it anyways...depending on size..i can do it for $50+...

    Yeah, lexus charges 1.7 hours to M&B--puts it right around 200 for all four. If you buy the tires thru us we throw in road hazard tho. Its spendy. Even employee cost is 80+ bucks.

    just weird. I had the 215/45r17s (that I bought on discounttiredirect, even still had the stickers on them) on my rotas last year at Sam's. they were $7 each then, taxes included. one of the local shops quoted me $140 because they were low profile.

    anyway, might be worth a phone call.

    i got mounted and balanced for $15 a corner...no way i'd pay more than $75 for all 4...most places around will do it for that same, highest i was quoted when i called around was $25 a corner

    I hear this a lot and see no names or phone numbers. I have called multiple tires plus/discount tires/goodyears/ma and pa shops, once they hear 225/45/17 the price goes through the roof.

    yeah mine were 16's...for my 17's i got them mounted in duluth at SVS for $20 a corner i can give you the # if you want to drive up there
