Looking for advice. Girlfriend wants to buy a forester. Anything I should look for/ avoid?

    Are there any years to avoid, know issues that I should look for, etc?

    She currently drives a 2001 4Runner that has been bullet proof, going on 250,000 miles.. She just wants something newer. The only thing she wants is leather, and a sunroof. Budget is 15-20K.

    Sounds like she basically wants a Touring, you can choose a 2.5i or the XT which is a 2.0 turbo like Jordan's linked directly above.

    Get a newer 4runner?

    Current gen Forester seems reliable enough, but won't come close to her 3rd gen t4r. Might find a post facelift 5th gen t4r in range. Probably looking at a pre facelift 5th gen or a 4th gen though. Would go with the v8 if going 4th gen. Those are/will continue holding value.
