so, I dropped the oil pan from my 4Runner today, and all 4 thrust washer halves were in the bottom of the pan. 2 of them were quite mangled. the motor hasn't been run much since it happened, so I'm gong to hope a set of bearings fixes it....but if not, I'm in the market for a new shortblock.

N/A preferred (higher comp.), but my truck is turbo, so that's ok too. not a big deal if some work needs to be done to it, but it does need to be cheap.

this doesn't have to come from a truck. I believe Toyota put the 22R in the camry etc. 22r, 22re and 22rte are virtually identical, so any of the above will work.

    bump...

I replaced the main bearings and thrust washers in my motor yesterday....with zero improvements. it still sounds like a diesel....so I'm still looking for a new shortblock.

    22RE (fuel injected N/A) preferred.

I may be running to UPull this weekend...
