Looking for some HID's for a 05 WRX but not sure where to buy them from or what i want to get. Anyone have any suggestions or possibly have a pair that they are trying to sell?
www.hid-lights.com Get the X5 kit. I've had mine for 4 years now without a single issue whatsoever on an 04 WRX. Same headlamps as you. Took me about an hour to install.
I have had both brands listed above, and no problems from either. One plus for DDM, lifetime warranty if you do ever have a problem.
and they stand behind that because I had one ballast go bad and they had no problems replacing it for me. I have also had both.
www.hidworld.com been goin through them with my familys cars and they last and work great ...great deals too
What are the bluest HID's that i can get? Do you need to buy a harness with it or does the kit come with everything that you need to install them?
I dunno i like the look....Does the kit just plug right into the stock harness or do i need to by a extra harness?
the kits should be plug and play you may like the "look" of blue HIDs but they not very functional compared to a lower temp white HID. Plus most drivers on the road find them quite annoying to drive into buy what you want, just an fyi that you won't have as good output as a white HID
For those rockin' the HIDs, what wattage did you go with? I'm interested in purchasing some as well from ddmtuning, not sure if it's worth upgrading to the 55 Watt kit. Anyone have any experience with the higher wattage?
35w and the 4300-4500 kits will put the most light on the road. As the k goes up, the color gets more blue and the actual useable light goes down. You want the balla blue look, order some 10k kits and get ready to use your flashlight for some extra light on the road. Russ
So wouldn't 55w and the 4300-4500 kits put out the most light? I'm not looking for blue, bright white is fine with me.
a 55w kit would be insanely bright. You might as well mount up a couple of 8" rally lights on the hood and drive with those. Remember, HID's are different front a regular bulb. IIRC 35w HID's are pretty close to 100w bulbs. I know in my rally lights, my 35w bulbs were brighter than my 100w standard bulbs. Given, the beam patterns were different, but there was a pretty noticeable difference. The other thing to remember, that any aftermarket HID kit is for off road purposes only, and they are talking the 35w kits. Russ
to piggy back off what russ said - your light housing were not designed for HIDs, going too high in wattage will start causing output issues where the light is not going where you want it to
