I've got a 100% stock 07 wrx sti and looking for a turbo back exhaust. Something that will make the car sound a little more mean and loud lol.

Little too vague. What style, how loud, catless, ready to tune?

An axle back will give you sound and no performance if that's all your looking for but this should be in the wtb section

Yeah my bad, I never really came on here until just a few days ago. I just want it a little louder then the stock one, which is almost silent. I'll be honest, I don't know much about this stuff. So If you guys have any suggestions that would be really helpful.

You'll have more options if you look at a catback as there are only a few axlebacks that come to mind that mate up with the stock midpipe (Stromung, STi Genome, TurboXS Standard?, Blitz Nur Spec R). Check out the FS section, there are typically a handful of catbacks available there.

Come out to one of the meets and listen to some different exhaust systems. I'm sure most would be more than happy to take you for a ride so you could have a listen. There is a huge difference from exhaust to exhaust. I personally have the Invidia Q300 because I didn't want something too loud, but yet want to know it is there when you open er up. There is also a difference in cabin noise from the sedan to the hatch with the same exhaust.

Maddad Whisper or SPT? Pretty sure the 07 didn't come in a hatch, last of the GD.

Correct, '07 STi were sedans not hatches. I had just a Stromung single tip axleback on for a couple of years because I wanted a little burble until I could afford the rest of the exhaust. I planned it out in advance though, knowing that if I got the axleback then I could mate it up with the TurboXS Stealthback to create a complete TBE. My car is surprisingly quite at low throttle but if I were to put an N1 style axleback on, it would be obnoxiously loud.

If you go the catback route, you'll have more options in the future for downpipes.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that if the OP rides in someones car that is a hatch, the exhaust would sound different. I'm assuming that the car is a sedan based on the avatar.

Yeah the 07 models were sedans and then after that is when they turned over to the hatchs. Another thing is price, looking for something around $500. I move back to MN next week so I should start going to some of these meets yall got going on too.

Roger on the hatch sedan thing, though I think that is a new style hatch vs sedan thing. I have a SPT on my GD and dig it. I think there is one for sale buried in the for sale forum. Bullwinkle had/has a Whisper and I thought a nicer sound but still not too aggressive. Both nice daily drivers. Good luck on the MN move.

Mine is a Invidia catless downpipe with liteSpec titanium exhaust. It's a little different from the usual and a little louder. I love it. :)
