Thanks, I tried U-Haul but they said no, said my truck doesn't meet their weight requirements ... I could use their dolly as a last resort if I disconnect the driveshaft. Option.

All else fails I got a truck I can help you out. I know it hauls a Subie with no prob. Done it a few times. (Enough that I'm thinking of buying a trailer)

Thanks. It's just U-haul covering their ass. I've hauled plenty of things with a half ton truck but their policy is a 1 ton or heavier to use their trailer.

I've had no issues renting a flatbed from U-Haul to pull with a 1/2-ton...

This is the first time for me also, I've used them in the past without issue.

New development. I used the online estimator as well as calling them trying to rent a trailer and both told me "no, your truck isn't heavy enough for our trailer and that car combination... blah blah blah". Just now, trying to see if other 1/2 ton trucks would have the same issue, using the online estimator, my truck is now approved.... nothing has changed. Same location, same towing vehicle, same trailer, same towed vehicle. So I call them again and they put in all the info and say no, not gonna cut it. I think I'll just go there and tell them I'm pulling a Festiva lol.

i would say either claim to be carrying a smaller vehicle or can always pick up with a bigger vehicle and tow with yours?
